Efrem Zimbalist Jr. Passes

| May 3, 2014

Efrem Zimbalist Jr., star of 77 Sunset Strip and The FBI, has died.  He was 95.

Zimbalist was the son of famous musical parents, and initially studied music.  However, he later turned to theater, films, and television, becoming most famous for the latter.

Zimbalist served as an infantryman in World War II.  He was a recipient of the Purple Heart.

Fox News has a good obit on the man.  It’s worth reading.

Rest in peace, Mr. Zimbalist.  Thanks for doing your duty when your country called – and for the memories.

I remember watching him every Sunday night with his stint at the FBI, a Quinn Martin Production with 4 acts and an epilogue. That is how I learned to spell epilogue !!!
RIP Sir and God bless you for your service.

I think I’ve seen every ep of “The FBI” twice or so. Didn’t Zimalist star in a revival of the series back in the 80’s? “The New FBI” or something like that?

RIP, Efrem Zimbalist Jr.

Inspector Lewis Erskine, FBI…Shipley’s hair has a photo of Zimbalist’s hair. The most interesting man in the world learned from watching Zimbalist. Yale educated, WW II Veteran, the son of musically brilliant parents, he was the essence of the no-nonsense gentleman. RIP.

And the winner of the internet today is…2/17 Air Cav!

My Father-in-Law was a Marine Engineer in Vietnam and came back to become a G-man. He has every episode of The FBI on DVD. I love watching the show with him because he has the a story for almost every case they talk about.

I was a big fan. Never missed the show.

Were the episodes taken from actual FBI files? Don’t remember if they ever said that.

Based on real FBI files w/ cooperation of Bureau. Interestingly, spoilers (criminal activity involved) were presented at start of every episode. Yeah, this was JEH’s fiefdom…no wimmin, only good looking G-Men allowed lol.

RIP Mr Zimbalist

That Medzyk guy....again

I guess he’ll have to wait a while, to borrow Kookie’s comb.
