sKerry: Russia has until Monday…or else
So, John Kerry, our Secretary of State is talking tough with Russia, warning that they had better reverse course in the Ukraine, or else, according to the Washington Examiner;
The U.S. and Europe on Monday would then unite to impose sanctions on Russia, Kerry told a Senate Appropriations subcommittee Thursday during a hearing on the State Department’s budget.
“There will be a response of some kind to the referendum itself,” Kerry said. “If there is no sign [from Russia] of any capacity to respond to this issue … there will be a very serious series of steps on Monday.”
“Our hope is to have Russia join in respecting international law. … There is no justification, no legality to this referendum that is taking place,” he said. “The hope is that reason will prevail but there is no guarantee of that.”
“A response of some kind” sounds so tough, doesn’t it? Especially coming from the chest puffers in this Administration. They cut our defenses to the bone and then talk tough like there’s some kind of military action that we can afford. But then, this is John Kerry who unilaterally surrendered to the North Vietnamese in Paris.
I’m sure that by Monday night, the strongly-worded protest letters will be flowing freely. The bodies of White House pages will be stacked like firewood on Pennsylvania Avenue. But Putin certainly won’t budge, not to these pretenders. They’ve made that clear to the world for the last five years. besides, we have things like immigration and minimum wages to yammer on about incessantly, until everyone forgets that we’re the punchline to every one of Putin’s jokes.

OK, Mr. Secretary, I’ll ask the obvious question.
“There will be a response of some kind” just seems kinda like . . . well, an empty and meaningless statement. A nod-and-a-wink is “a response of some kind”. So is belching.
What precisely do you mean? What will the US do?
Hell, what CAN the US do that will be meaningful here?
If the answer is “diddly squat”, perhaps you should just be quiet. When one is bluffing – and also knows they hold the losing hand – the best strategy is generally to cut one’s losses. You certainly don’t want to attract attention to the fact that you “got nuthin'”.
Kerry is talking really, really tough after he double and then triple dares Putin:
“The President has made it clear there will be consequences if Russia does not find a way to change course, and we don’t say that as a threat.”
“None of what we’re saying is meant as a threat, not meant in a personal way, it’s meant as a matter of respect.”
I will never be embarrassed to be an American, but, I am continuously embarrassed to be represented by the feckless and inept Obama Administration
What happened to ‘double dog dare’?
If Carter was a vegetable, what is bodaprez besides a bad joke?
Putin has told sKerry and Obama to get stuffed, so; why wait until Monday, since the answer will be the same?
Obama is such a bumbling pussy on foreign policy that he’s the one who gave the Russians, and anyone else, the go ahead to do whatever they wanted around the world 5 years ago. Now he thinks he can act all tough? Bitch, please.
The strongly-worded letter that is soon to come, will be followed up by. . . . . nothing.
Kerry’s red line, drawn with authentic
Heinz catsup.
Nice one.
So, Kerry hopes that Russia will change its course regarding Crimea. The hope and change strategy worked so well domestically, it’s no wonder that the obamanistas have gone international with it.
I am sure Obama’s response will be, “I am so pissed about Putin, I am going to ride my bicycle…without a helmet! That will show him I’m mad and mean business. (might even have the Secret Service take the training wheels off1). Yea, I’ll show HIM then!” “Kerry, let go of the back of my bicycle so I look like I’m holding myself up…you know for the photo op. That darned Putin!”
Isn’t it historic comrades? Who cares if the republic goes down at least we had a historic moment with Chicago Jesus leading us to glorious victories. Zimbabwe? Yes we can!
Yep, Scary Neville Chamberlin Kerry makes his empty threats from a safe distance. Wow, those alleged sanctions will work against Russia as they did against Iran. What a joke. Watch Europe crumble when Putin shuts off the gas and oil.
Sigh, The Three Stooges are running our foreign policy.
Bottom line is that for all intents and purposes, Crimea IS Russian. We have no business interfering. Ukraine should let it go and focus on building a country independent of Russia, they have no hope of winning militarily against them.
Another thought… one way we CAN help is to start exporting our copious amounts of natural gas. Then Putin would no longer have Ukraine, and Europe, over a barrel.
He will unfriend Putin on Facebook, unfollow him on Twittwer and if that doesnt bring him to his knees Kerry will stomp his right foot.
Would the last person alive in DC please press the button and end this sad experiment in democracy. We finally got what we deserved, a man so egotistical that he thought he was bigger than the republic. He promised everyone everything and the people fell for it. Lincoln was wrong, You can fool enough of the people that it might as well all of them.Goodbye and thanks for the fish.
