Tuesday morning feel good story

| February 18, 2014

Amy sends us our first feel good story today from Houston where a couple of youngsters were out doing their nightly business – beating someone behind a dumpster. A passerby yelled for them to stop, and one of the youths, forced to neglect his business, began approaching the passerby displaying his firearm. Unfortunately, for the fellow who was just turning his life around, the passerby was an off duty cop;

The officer, fearing for his life, opened fire and shot the suspect. The second suspect, who turned out to be a juvenile, fled and was later arrested at a home on the other side of the freeway.

“It’s an officer who saw the individuals beating and robbing a male victim in the street, and he took what he thought was the appropriate action to keep this victim from being more hurt than he was,” said Cannon.

The beating victim was not seriously injured.

HPD said Officer Rodriguez is a 22-year-veteran of the force.

Police identified the killed suspect as Oscar Gaspar, 17.

Our second story, sent to us by Chief Tango comes from one of my many hometowns, Killeen, Texas;

Officials said a resident of the home was woken by members of his family, who told him that someone was attempting to break into the house. As the resident walked to the kitchen, the power to the house was cut off.

Someone kicked in the back door and and entered the house, and the resident fired two shots towards the intruder, according to a news release from Bell County Sheriff’s Department.

As the first suspect was entering the back door, a second suspect was attempting to force his way in through the front door. The second suspect fled when the resident approached him.

Killeen Fire Department EMS took the subject who had been shot to Scott & White Hospital in Temple with non-life threatening injuries. The second suspect was found later, and is being interviewed by investigators, officials said.

More range time, dude.

The third story was sent by Mr Bill and comes from San Antonio, Texas, where a homeowner inconveniently came home early without calling ahead and found a couple of local kids relocating his stuff;

As the homeowner returned to his residence on the 600 block of River Village, he heard people inside as he opened the front door, according to authorities. The three suspected burglars then burst through the garage door of the home in a red sedan, and the homeowner started firing a handgun he had on him, police said.

Two of the suspects were hit — one on the shoulder and one in the back. They were taken to the hospital, while the third suspect was taken into custody.

The suspects are all men. One of the suspects who was shot is 18 years old, while the suspect who was not shot is 17. The age of the third suspect was not immediately available.

As Mr Bill said, two out of three ain’t bad. He would have qualified Sharpshooter.

Story #3
Two out of three is good, when you consider hitting fast moving targets. No additional range time needed here.

MAJMike

Don’t mess with Texans.

A very great many of us armed. We carry. We are more than capable of shooting those who threaten us. Pay attention, a$$holes!
