Monday morning feel good story

| February 17, 2014

Chief Tango sends our feel good story to kick off the week. The first is from Tulsa where a homeowner stopped a home invasion at his front door;

Police say a man in his 40s tried to force his way into an apartment, but the resident was armed. He shot and killed the intruder.

The deceased man has been identified as Michael Walton, according to Detective Mark Kennedy, Tulsa Police.

The second man, identified as Tommy Debrosse, was shot in the face, arms and back, police say. He showed up at a Tulsa hospital around 5 a.m. and was transferred to another hospital due to the severity of his wounds, according to Tulsa police.

In a news bulletin issued late Sunday morning, Homicide Sergeant Dave Walker said a woman sometimes lived at the apartment but was moving out. As she left the apartment, Walton apparently forced his way in, Walker said.

The second story comes from Lexington, KY where another homeowner ended another home invasion at the door;

Police say two men kicked in the back door of the home and the homeowner fired two shots hitting one of the men in the leg.

Police found the 16-year-old in the driveway of the home. Firefighters took him to UK Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“The homeowner apparently had been a victim of crime before, so that’s why he was kind of always cautious and owned a firearm,” Lexington Police Lt. Eddie Hart said.

The homeowner told WKYT’s Victor Puente that he was glad the teen was not more seriously injured.

As, shit! Now I have to drag my ass down to the t-shirt kiosk this morning for another commemorative t-shirt honoring the recently departed. Fo’ Shizzle, Homie, Fo’ Shizzle.

I wish someone would design a shirt that looked
like a scoreboard and said:

Hey good shootin’ in Tulsa!

The kid in Kentucky may have caught a bullet but he also caught a big break. Maybe, just maybe it will be the food for thought he needs to truly turn his life around. The homeowner was merciful to him.

I agree with Sparks.

If I was the homeowner, I would be cursing myself out for allowing my sights to get that off.

Then I would be going to the range with a couple boxes of ammo.
