Supplemental Feel Good Story

| December 8, 2013

Ohio sends us a link from an additional feel good story, this one from Houston, where three men tried to break into a home. The disturbance woke the residents who came to check out the noise. But one of the criminals was a bit butter-fingered and dropped his piece;

The suspects took off running, and one of them dropped his gun. The male who lives on the property picked up the gun, and the other suspects opened fire on him, deputies said. The man returned fire, shooting one of the alleged crooks in the head.

“Well, he got what he deserved,” said Steven Hooker, who works nearby.

The suspect died at the scene while the other two got away.

See, that’s why I invest in Pachmayer grips for all of my guns.

Eh, I made a nice set of grips for my 1911 out of Olive wood. Sand to a #60 grit, water seal and you have a very nice grip without being too aggressive.

Looks like I’ll have to tell my sister not to move to Texas unless she learns how to handle a gun. Her grandkids are down there.

How bad does that suck, to get blasted by your own gun when you are trying to burglarize an establishment?? Although, that’s not how the story is written, but is in the byline under the headline of the news video. I suspect that the dude who dropped the gun wasn’t the recipient of the head shot, but one of his buddies that started shooting.

Rule #1 for a gunfight: bring a gun, not a knife or club.

Rule #2 for a gunfight: hang on to your damn gun!

The penalty for violating either of these rules can be quite extreme.

@4 Hondo LMAO but you are dead on right!

“Deputies said a burglary suspect was shot dead by his own gun after dropping it while trying to escape the scene of an alleged crime early Thursday.”

WITH. A burglary suspect was shot dead WITH his own gun after dropping it (etcetera and so forth). And he was shot BY the occupant of the residence.

Many news reporters don’t write well to start with, but the tendency seems to increase for stories involving guns.
