Israel rejects Kerry-Iran deal

| November 8, 2013

John Kerry stopped by Israel yesterday on his way to Switzerland to negotiate with Iran over their nuclear program, the program that most of the world believes will result in yet another nuclear-armed nation in the unstable Middle East. Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, says that Israel “utterly rejects” the plan that Kerry will offer Iran, according to the Associated Press;

“I understand the Iranians are walking around very satisfied in Geneva as well they should because they got everything and paid nothing,” Netanyahu told reporters.

“They wanted relief of sanctions after years of grueling sanctions, they got that. They paid nothing because they are not reducing in any way their nuclear enrichment capability. So Iran got the deal of the century and the international community got a bad deal,” Netanyahu said.

“This is a very bad deal and Israel utterly rejects it. Israel is not obliged by this agreement and Israel will do everything it needs to do to defend itself and defend the security of its people,” he said.

Well, really, what did everyone expect from this administration, especially with Kerry running our diplomacy? I expect that after giving Iran everything it wants, we’ll see a bunch of back-clapping in the White House because they got Iran to show up at negotiations, and that’s all that really counts, isn’t it? The Obama and Bush Administrations have been hoping that Israel will take direct action against Iran to stop their nuclear weapon development and this might the thing that pushes them over the edge.

C’mon, Jonn, why should anyone be surprised? Kerry stated in the 2004 debates with Bush that he’d give Iran nuclear fuel “to develop for peaceful purposes.”

Yeah, riiiiiight.

Jonn, you are absolutely right, the U.S. is praying that Israel does the dirty work. Unfortunately for Israel, with this administration in office, once the IAF does their job, America is going to throw the Israeli’s under the biggest bus they can find.

Obama famously promised talks with the Iranians with no pre conditions. He did this back in 2008. He is nothing if not persistent. After being told to pound sand for 5 years, he has finally given away enough concessions to get the Iranians to the negotiating table. This is all a photo op for Obama to looks statesman like. Real progress and tangible results are secondary to this clown.

I am disgusted with the amateur hour that is our foreign policy. We have placated evil and sold out our friends from the moment these turds took control of the country.

Remember, Chamberlain looked statesman-like too, right up to the point the Nazis rolled into Poland and France.

The difference between Chamberlain and Obama, however, is that Obama at least has history and the mistakes of Chamberlain to look back on and learn from. He simply chooses not to.

We are so screwed.

At least Neville Chamberlain received false promises in writing for appeasing the Nazis. Kerry didn’t even get that. Nonetheless I do think he would look great carrying an umbrella and wearing a bowler, don’t you?

MGySgtRet.

Especially if he was wearing them while walking off a fucking cliff……

I noticed a few days ago that the State’s propoganda department was working overtime doling out stories about how the poor Iranian citizen was the one really being hurt by the embargo. It was a set up fot this bullshit. Too bad the Emperor doesn’t have the same altruistic and compassionate attitude toward the American citizen.

Ex-PH2

@5, right now, those two are so close to the edge of that cliff….

Whenever kerry says something like these things he’s said recently (as in that debate) — things that are now on public records — does he have even a clue to how utterly stupid it makes him look?

He did, after all, invent the imaginary land of Kyrzakistan, which I have blatantly stolen from him.

I’ve lost track of how many other dimwitted things he’s said, whether they’re plain old lies or blatant errors. Otherwise, I would not bother asking what is an obvious question.

OWB

They do NOT care how stupid they look, much less how stupid their policies are as long as they are in positions to implement their lunatic policies. Which they are. Unfortunately.

They are raving ideologues. We let them take assume their power over us. We are living the destruction of the American dream that some of us here assumed would continue for generations to come.

If anyone thinks this can’t get worse; just watch what happens. Saudi Arabia already has an agreement with Pakistan to supply them with nukes should Iran go nuke. Then, you have what no one in the region wanted; a nuclear Persian Gulf. That will help no one and only make things much more complicated, since most of that region doesn’t get along with Israel and Israel has nukes.

Yeah, Obama is sooo fucking smart. His “smart diplomacy” is winning converts all over the world!!! As my grandpappy would say “he’s worhtless as tits on a bull”.

Old Trooper-I was just going to point that out as well. Ace had a link up yesterday to a story that talked about how the Saudis had laid the groundwork for getting Pakistani nukes-and the means to deliver them-years ago.

And whose to say that either the Saudis or Iranians would show any restraint in lobbing nukes back and forth at each other? The Saudis view Shia Iranians as the greatest apostates in Islam, while the Iranians may hate the Saudis more than the Israelis (anyway they are in range of Iranian missiles, but Israel is a stretch).

I’m sure our lapdog media would try their damnedest to blame it all on Bush, but our middle eastern allies would know the truth, and so would other major foreign powers like Russia and China.

A Proud Infidel

I don’t think B. Hussein 0bama will do anything about this mess without George Soros’s permission!

I think it’s the ‘let’s all just be pals’ meme that bothers me the most.

Those countries who are longstanding allies are being dismissed as unimportant, and those who have a history of threats toward the US are being courted like virgin queens.

This is disgusting. And naive. And stupifyingly stupid.

And damned dangerous. Lest we forget, the 9/11/01 hijackings were a response to the lack of success of the first bombing attempt on the World Trade Center and the blind sheikh being arrested. That happened during — let me see — wasn’t it THE CLINTON ADMINISTRATION? The fact that Bush Jr. was in office in 2001 is coincidental.

Old Trooper

@12: Yeah, let’s not forget that the Saudis are pissed at us. I know Kerry went over there to give hummers to anyone that stood in front of him, but I don’t think they were swayed to our side by anything Lurch said or did. They’re looking out for themselves and they know that the US, under this administration, isn’t going to have their back, so they are looking to create alliances whereever they can, at this point.

Veritas Omnia Vincit

As if we needed another example of the lack of experience in foreign affairs as exhibited by this current crop of newbies in the White House….

John Kerry has been a fool for well over 40 years, no surprise he is wrong here…coupled with Obama’s laser like focus on foreign affairs and you multiply the ineptitude by a logarithmic factor….

The Israeli Air Force already deserves the Nobel peace prize for taking out Iraqi and Syrian reactors, third time’s the charm

Dude 365

Well then isnt it good that America will not be fighting Israel’s battles for them? We’ve given them billions of dollars of aid money which could be used at home (Pakis and Egyptians too!) This country is exhausted by 12 years of war, i dont think we should be fighting another countries battle for them when we do not have a dog in the fight.
