Bush’s fault

| October 17, 2013

MCPO NYC USN (Ret.) sends us a video from the Media Research Center wherein folks on the street are asked whose fault the shutdown was and of course, it’s Bush’s fault, five years after he left office. It was all filmed across the street from my office on North Capitol Street in DC. I used to get my half-smoke at the little cart in the background from Mary the Ethiopian woman who runs it. But, I’m not there anymore, and now you know why.

Oh, by the way, I went back to work this morning after a call at 1 AM from a robo-caller thing. So I’m buried in the stuff that piled up during the furlough, because the flow never stops. I’m not one of the federal workers who are whining because their pay shut off for a few days, though. I did that weird thing called “planning ahead” since 2006. I hope the whiners can make it to next week when we get all of that back pay that we didn’t earn.

I wonder why Rush calls them “low information voters”…..?

Smitty

what ever happened to leadership meaning “the buck stops here”? now it is “the buck stops at Bush’ front door” Bush must have been one hell of a leader to be shouldering the responsibility of this guy 5 years after he left office

MCPO NYC USN (Ret.)

One dumb ass says, “work, working for me is no good, I would rather get free, free food.”

islandofmisfittoys

It is appalling and shocking just how ignorant much of the voting public is and that they allow themselves to have emotions stirred by much of the media verse real research into the issues. We have unparallel access to information today and the ability to look at multiple sources of information on topics so there is no excuse not to become an informed voter verse a sheep going along with the heard. I often wonder how many actually have gone to the websites for the House and Senate to read the bills being passed and see what is being jammed inside of them and compared to what the press says. The same goes for the SCOTUS decisions, it is often eye opening to read it and then see what the press and the talking heads are saying. If people did read and research more they may hold their elected leaders more accountable for their actions and not vote based on wrong ideas and raw emotion stirred by those with other agendas. In many ways instead of becoming more informed and using the tools available to all the public seems to becoming more and more complacent and lazy; and in some measures ignorant hence the belief in Bush’s fault or citing that they get their news from The Daily Show and Cobert Report. Then again people have believed that Onion and Duffle Blog articles are real.

Ex-PH2

I’m not going to watch any more of your videos.

They give me headaches and dyspepsia.

F@#$! oxygen thieves….

May God have mercy on our souls.

You want to know who put Obama into office twice? Look no further.

PintoNag

You want to see who’s going to burn the damn country down around the politician’s ears when the music (and the money) stops?

Look no further.

MGySgtRet.

@ 8 & 9, well you took my comments so I will just say, “what they said!!!

Veritas Omnia Vincit

I think I missed a memo somewhere along the way, when did being a complete and total f@cking moron become a socially acceptable method of getting through life? There are maybe two people in this video who clearly understand that Bush had nothing to do with. The rest are f#cking idiots without any clue as to how our government works and apparently no shame in their ignorance of that process. A couple of them seem to almost revel in their shameless stupidity.

Devtun

Yeah, I got reservations of #43…a big gov’t R’pub in many ways (bailouts, social programs, deficit spending). At least the guy took his job seriously, treated the Office w/ dignity, loved being President, genuinely loved All Americans & the MIL troops he commanded. Continuing to blame Dubya 5 yrs after leaving office says what of the current resident at 1600 Penn? Pretty damning indictment…

A Proud Infidel

NOTHING is St. B. Hussein 0bama’s fault, to even think anything is is just…. plain… WAAAAYYYCIST!!!

GOD help America!!

OWB

I’ll see your, “It’s all Bush’s fault” and raise you a, “Well, FDR started it all!”

Instinct

All I will say is keep your ammo dry and plentiful. I think we saw the future a few days ago when the welfare cards stopped working in 17 states.

MCPO NYC USN (Ret.)

@ 15

One local shopper and non-taxpayer said, “dis is not our’s fault … da gummint fault and I’s got’s to eat.”

Jas

Wow…

Even though I often disagree with conservative point of views, this is just plain crazy. Of course the current AND former administration (incl. House senate congress potus) is soleily responsible for their actions and decisions – and what comes with it.

When a cop pulls you over – you can’t go:

“Licence please”
“Sir, have you been drinking?”
-“yep”
“Are you drunk?”
-“yep, but see it’s not my fault: had the other guy in the bar before me not left something to pour down I’d be sober – not to speak of that filthy brewer…”

Free people making free decisions sadly led into dumb people making decisions

Jas

To be clear: with “current and former” I mean Obama I/II

OldSoldier54

That is … pathetic.

This anonymous clan of slack-jawed troglodytes has cost me the election, and yet if I were to have them killed, I would be the one to go to jail. That’s democracy for you.

FatCircles0311

Dat tribalism.

Good grief, ‘Merica!

Jacobite

There’s 3 minutes of my life I’ll never get back, lol.

Color me shocked. Not. And I’m not sure what’s more depressing, the idiocy of some of those people, or my lack of surprise anymore.

ROS

It’s Pavlovian. Wow.

E-6 type, 1 ea

Ahh yes, there’s more of the peopl who vote for a living.

AW1Ed

I’m one of the those federal workers who planned ahead, too. I saw sequester coming on like a freight train this summer, and got through just fine. Am I getting back pay for those lost days? Eff no.

As an exempted employee who worked through this latest debacle, can I expect an extra 16 days of paid leave?
Eff no.
/whining 😉

“Man on the Street” interviews always seem to pander to the lowest common denominator, so I don’t pay them much heed. Are there idiots out there? Of course. And always will be.

And they vote.

UpNorth

Hmmmm. Jonn posted this, VOV said this, “I think I missed a memo somewhere along the way, when did being a complete and total f@cking moron become a socially acceptable method of getting through life?” and Joey showed up today to confirm that low info morons are all around us.

vietnam war protestor

I was at a service station I own and older american made car the ones that pass everything but a service station or repair shop. While gasing up a car pulled up with bumper sticker with a goofey picture of bush with the caption “miss me yet?” I told the person that no I don’t think the loved ones of the men and women who jumped out of the burning world trade center or died in afganistan or iraq or the children who drowned or died on the bridge miss bush yet!

68W58

I was at a service station I own…”

Just because they let you panhandle in the parking lot it doesn’t mean that you have any claim of ownership.

MCPO NYC USN (Ret.)

@ 27. Your are a fucking idiot. If I were the person you said that to, you would have been shitting teeth for a week.

Moron!

Just An Old Dog

@27
If you were any more stupid you would have to be two people. There is no way on God’s green earth that more stupidity could be packed into one living creature.
You own a business? Sure, and I own the New York Yankees.

UpNorth

@#28. That was comedy gold. And the absolute truth about the moron known as protester.
And, I haven’t seen a “service station” in years. Gas stations? Sure. Convenience stores with gas pumps? Yeah.

NHSparky

@27…and I’m married to Morgan…Morgan Fairchild.

Yeah, that’s it. That’s the ticket.

Ex-PH2

OH, GEEZ! vnwp, could you BE any stupider?

I did not think it was possible — nay, even remotely likely — that you would let everyone on the freakin’ planet know, with no uncertainty, that you are NOT ONLY AN IDIOT, YOU ARE ALSO AN ILLITERATE LOON.

You do come under the category heading ‘So stupid you don’t even know you’re alive’.

Eric

Maybe he calls it a service station because he services men for crack? And its his station because just like hookers, he has his corner. Just a thought.

This is a perfect example of what’s more “important” to far too many Americans. They’ll spend more time preparing to vote for someone on American Idol than they will voting for someone to represent them in Congress or the White House.

And then you get people in Hollywood saying stupid things like “oh, you don’t agree with Obama? You’re racist,” and everyone determines that kind of argument is what they’ll use too.

PigmyPuncher

I’m speechless…

NHSparky

Eric–I’ve got liberal friends/acquaintences who think racism and their hatred of Obama is why “the GOP shut down the government.”

Ya know, for a party that controls one half of one-third of the government, they sure do have a lot of clout!

B Woodman

Low information voters. . . . .
Why there should be an information/news/intelligence test before being allowed to punch the chad. Nothing PhD level, just a series of half-a-dozen or so simple questions to show you know what you’re doing.
But I think that all might be moot soon when the economy, and hence the Gubbment, collapses under the weight of entitlement voters and the its own hubris.

2/17 Air Cav

“Low information voters. . . .” It’s worse than that. What little information they have is wrong. And just think (which, apparently is a skill eluding them, a couple of these morons, numbskulls, boneheads (pick one or mix and match) just might actually vote. Targets. That’s what I see. iseetag

Hondo

vietnam war protester: gas station, eh? Perhaps that explains it. Excessive exposure to gasoline and/or certain other volatile hydrocarbon vapors can cause brain damage.

No, those who died on 9/11 don’t miss Bush. But they’re still cursing Clinton and his Administration from the afterlife.

Even a fool knows that it’s not possible to fix 8 years of continual, gross mismanagement of the national security in less than 8 months, dipstick. It doesn’t surprise me that an idiot like you would be unable to figure that out for yourself, though.

Since you seem too stupid to figure it out for yourself, I’ll spell it out for you. At the time 9/11 took place, Bush had been in office for 7 months and 23 days. Prior to that, Clinton had had 8 years to fornicate up America’s national security – which he did by the numbers. We’re still living with the fallout from that in the Arab world and in Asia today.

You are again cordially invited to execute the activities mentioned on this very NSFW/children video clip, oh Walking Rectal Orifice.

rb325th

I suddenly have a migraine from reading Vietnam War protesters posting….
Okay Hondo beat you up pretty good over the 9/11 Reference so I will skip over that.
You sir are an ignorant waste of human DNA and it is extremely unfortunate that your mother did not simply swallow, or at least afford herself of a back alley abortion. A coat hanger could have saved this world many decades of your thieving oxygen from those who deserve it.
Actually I had intended to rebut all your ramblings, but I think my response is far more fitting your idiocy.

NHSparky

To put it simply, VWP–your momma should have scooted her ass on the carpet and aborted you.
