Friday feel good story
Chief Tango sends our feel good story today and it comes from Houston. A man and his wife returned to their house and found it had been burglarized in their absence. While they were waiting for the police, the burglar returned and broke in again;
His wife says he returned to find their home burglarized — an iPad, game system and gun stolen. As they were waiting for officers to respond, she says the crook came back and her husband opened fire.
“I always keep one on me. He stole my wife’s gun,” the homeowner said.
So he reached for his other gun.
“Somebody came into the house while I was in there with my family,” he said.
He fired off multiple shots. The suspect, wounded, escaped to the apartment complex behind his house, where Houston police found him. He was rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital as the wife’s father, Danny Burkett, arrived.
“I’m grateful that everything worked out OK for them. But the perpetrator, I don’t have no mercy for that bastard,” Burkett said.
There’s no word on the burglar’s condition, except that it’s pretty clear that his life has been turned around.

“…I don’t have no mercy for that bastard,”
My sentiments EXACTLY.
Folks in Houston are not as welcoming as they once were. They were burned pretty bad by the influx of idiots from NOLA a few years ago and their patience with the criminal element has worn thin.
Well done. (Yeah, that was an echo of the father’s sentiments.)
The homeowner needs range time. Multiple shots, and the perp only wounded?!
I see that the mask of gentility is off. It used to be, “Oh dear, I feared for my life. I hope he’s ok.”
Now it’s, “I don’t have no mercy for that bastard.”
I wonder how that’s going to play out with the po-po, state attorney, and grand jury. Hopefully the Texas attitude has rubbed off on all of them, too.
But the perpetrator, I don’t have no mercy for that bastard,
That’s a good father right there.
The suspect was rushed off to the hospital….why?

I dunno. Less paperwork?
The homeowner needs range time. Multiple shots, and the perp only wounded?!
80% of people shot in the USA survive. Not sure more range time would change that.
And why was the wife nto carrying her piece?
@ 7 It didn’t go with her shoes! My wife has carried a Colt Mustang +2 for twenty years. She has one of those holster purses and she can pop that thing out and give you a real surprise. A gun in the drawer is worthless if you are out in the world. She was just lucky her hubby had his.
Why wan’t she c arring because her hubby was. Joe
