Tuesday feel good stories

| August 6, 2013

Chief Tango sends us a link to our feel good story today from Winnebago County, Wisconsin in which a woman opened fire on a man crawling through her window. I guess he left through the same window and more quickly than his manner of entry.

It’s not clear if she got a hit on him.

Ray sends us another from DeKalb County, GA where a couple of youths tried to turn their lives around by kicking in a homeowner’s door. He greeted them with a hail of lead;

Police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said Monday that a group of three teenagers backed a stolen car into the driveway of a Lithonia home and then knocked on the front door to check if anyone was inside. Parish says two of the teens then ran to the rear of the house.

Police say the homeowner saw the teens run to the back of the house, grabbed his gun and opened fire when the teens kicked the door in. Parish says the wounded teens ran from the home and have been taken to a local hospital.

Hm. The stories aren’t quite as heartwarming without the removal of worthless people from the gene pool but it’s still nice to see that ballistic correction is being used to solve problems.

Frankly Opinionated

AWESOME! A feel good story for my early read with coffee. I enjoy them all day long, but to have one to read just as my coffee is brewed is superb.
Love these heartwarming stories of how the lowlife element of our society has their lives turned around, giving us hope for the citizenry, as we again take the reins of keeping ourselves and our neighbors safe here in the land of milk, honey, Colt and Henry.

Old Trooper

Do ya think the “Utes” learned their lesson, or are they gonna wear their wounds like a badge with pride and continue down the path until they end up dead?

I go with outcome #2

LebbenB

@3. Sadly, my friend, I think you’re right. I hope that at least one of those young men says, “Fuck this. This ain’t worth getting my ass shot off. I’m going back to school.” And wears his bullet wound as a reminder of how his life could have ended up.

It’s a forlorn hope, I admit.

PintoNag

@3 I think it will be outcome number two. They be “gangstas” now, and that’s how they’ll act — until they end up dead like one.

Sparks

It warms my heart when these “yoots” want to turn their lives around at a victims expense and get a bullet.

2/17 Air Cav

@3. Yeah, I’ll take door #2 also. Doing time and sportin’ buckshot or bullet wounds is indeed a matter of pride is some circles.

UpNorth

@3. It’d be nice to give the Utes the benefit of the doubt, but, people being people, each of them are destined to end up on a table at the coroner’s office. The only question being, when.

Hondo

Dunno about that. If there were 3 of them, maybe 1 will have the smarts to learn from this incident. Maybe.

Or maybe not. My guess is that somewhere between 20% and 40% of such youths might be salvageable, and 1 of 3 is 33%. But I could well be wrong.

Sparks

@9 I am afraid all he will learn from this is to come armed next time.

Hondo

Sparks: sadly, that’s also a damn good possibility. And the next homeowner he robs might not be.

2/17 Air Cav

The rule of thirds. For crims, 1/3 will see the light, 1/3 will keep trying to turn their lives around again and again, and 1/3 will be plantyed or imprisoned for a long stretch. Of course, the rule does not apply to individuals or small groups of them. Thus, all of these fine fellows could, as UpNorth predicts, end up fully ventilated and on a slab.
