Jury selected for Hasan murder trial
The Austin Statesman that finally, after a 44-month clown car ride, the trial date for the Fort Hood murder, Nidal Hasan, has been set to begin August 6th.
The jury was finalized after prosecutors successfully challenged three potential jurors, including two who had voiced opposition to the death penalty. Hasan, who is acting as his own attorney, did not challenge any jurors Tuesday and did not use his one “peremptory challenge,” which would have allowed him to dismiss any juror without justification.
[…]
The jury includes two officers who have expressed skepticism about the death penalty, but did not express the level of opposition shown by two jurors dismissed Tuesday. Both of those said their reservations about capital punishment stemmed from their strong religious convictions.
Military judge Tara Osborn initially ruled Tuesday that the two officers should remain on the jury despite their death penalty feelings, saying both had pledged to set aside their religious beliefs and follow her instructions to “meaningfully consider” the death penalty. But she allowed the dismissal of one based on his admission that he had already formed an opinion on Hasan’s guilt.
Given his idiot behavior over the last few years, those two officers who have reservations about the death penalty should be ready to put Hasan to death just to shut him up. By the way, it will take 2/3 vote to find Hasan guilty, but they must vote unanimously to put him to death. I think Hasan can take them there.

Hard to say. If he acts enough like a jerk, he’s probably even persuade COs that he needs to die.
I think there’s 100% chance that once in to the trial phase of this asshat gets going good and long, any of the military jury is going to want to *gladly* climb out of their box and strangle this shitbag themselves.
can we just get on wit hthis, get a rope, find a nice oak tree and hang his ass.
Sadly, rb325th, today military executions are by reg performed via lethal injection.
Public hanging would indeed what I’d prefer to see.
Finally. We now get on with the next act of this farce.
I have a question?
If he doesn’t get served up the level of justice we demand, should we start turning over police cars in our communities?
Just wondering.
LOl ever Muslim should Travel to Mecca at Least Once… C5… Hassans ASS .. and25000 LBS of Freds Famouse Fried pork Rinds… RC flight Right into the KAbba!
@6: Sounds good to me.
@ #6: Maybe POVs with those blue stickers on them??
Lets get his fair trial over with so we can hang the guilty shit bag!!!!
@8 Can you imagine if we did?? Obama would shit his diaper!!
@9 – Those too.
Cool.
@9: Congratulations, you won the Internets. Flawless Threadwin! Fatality!
I dont want him dead, I want him rotting in a prison somewhere so he cannot be the martyr he wants to be.
“But she allowed the dismissal of one based on his admission that he had already formed an opinion on Hasan’s guilt.”
LMAO!!!!!!
This is one of those times when you have to look at our laws and legal system and shake your head and laugh
Is there really anyone (especially IN the military where the jury is being pulled from) that hasn’t formed that same opinion?
i want him tied up in my basement so he can spend some quality time with my pliers, but we dont always get what we want
@13 Robot Wrangler, martyrdom belongs to saints, not thugs. I’d prefer he toddle off to hell sooner rather than later.
@16 For a muslim getting killed by infidels is enough to make him a martyr to the zealots. Trust me I want the guy dead as a nuns sex life but I dont want him becoming a rallying cry for some 3rd world dickhead.
@15: Pliers? Where’s the cattle prod, acetone, electric screwdriver, etc.????
hell, keep him alive, clean shaven in a tub of pig fat for the next 50 years with a silent feed on TV to Al-Jazeera.
@17 He’s only as important as we let him be.
@20 I agree, but like I said Haji in armpitistan might just not see it like we do.
@21- Who cares what hadji in other parts of the world think? If Hasan is gone, it makes the world just a little better. The rest can wait and stand the fuck by for their turn.
@18, you can break each knuckle 3 times, and then cut it off with just a pair of flat nose pliers. skin can be torn away tiny piece by tiny piece with minimal blood loss. all pain is experienced with out any loss of sensation. electricity has a strange numbing effect, too much effect on the brain so he doesnt get to properly enjoy his treatment, so cattle prod is out. acetone works to the nerve endings too quickly, and electric screw drivers, while fun, dont have the versatility of a good old pair of pliers
@22. Who cares what hadji in other parts of the world think?
Obama. I hear that he has now said if he had a brother, he would look like Hasan.
I think we should use him as an experiment in theology. We all know that muslim’s can’t eat pork, but what would happen if pork ate a muslim?
@24, obama has a brother, he lives in poverty in africa and abhors liberal ideals. obama pretends he doesnt exist
My question is, how in the HELL can OFFICERS of the US Army (or ANY US military branch), who are supposed to lead soldiers into mayhem, murder and havoc, be OPPOSED to the death penalty?? If nothing else, you’d think they’d want to be rid of this shitstain as quickly as possibly, just to cleanse the name and honor of the officer corps. If Hasan’s in prison, he’s a still-living reminder of the dishonor brought upon the military and the officer corps.
Hasan’s last meal should be something, anything, PORK. No choices. Force fed if necessary. I volunteer to feed “it”.
@23-
Go on…..
Mike
Personally, I think that he should be dipped legs first into a pen of starving pigs. Let them chow on him a little, and lift him back out. Then again, and again. Make sure to treat all of his wounds so he doesn’t die of blood loss. After a while, it will start hitting the parts he can feel. Make sure to transmit it to every Muslim shithole in the world. And air-drop the DVDs if they start getting ideas of adequacy.
Jury members or board members? If Hassan is facing a court martial, I think it would be board member, unless things have changed since I was on active duty. It would not be surprising for a newspaper to get military terminology wrong, however.
