Dayton Veterans Affairs Medical Center chief indited for bribery

| June 22, 2013

Preston sends us a link to a story in the Dayton Daily News about William Montague who came out of retirement to run the Dayton Veterans Affairs Medical Center after it was investigated for unsanitary practices. He immediately set to work lining his own pockets with bribes from contractors;

That developer, Michael Forlani, is serving eight years in federal prison on racketeering, bribery and other charges. The charges against Montague are related to the ongoing corruption investigation into government in Cuyahoga County that implicated Forlani along with more than 60 elected officials, public officials and contractors, according to The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer.

Montague, 61, pleaded not guilty to 36 counts including bribery, wire and mail fraud, and disclosing public contract information.

“As a Veterans Affairs Medical Center Director, William Montague misled staff and misused his position to enrich himself and businesses pursuing contracts with the Veterans Administration,” Stephen D. Anthony, the special agent in charge at the FBI Cleveland Office, said in a written statement. “The arrest of Montague reflects law enforcement’s continued dedication to root out corruption at any level.”

Montague was rehired from his retirement in 2011.

If the Federal prosecutors can prove their case, I hope the judge maxes this guy. I have no use for public employees who use their official position for personal gain.

On second though, possibly I do have a use for them. Someone has to make license-plates.

In my most humble opinion, this is on par with (if not worse than) stolen valor. If this is true, and he’s found guilty, I hope the F’ker rots in prison.

The stench in this culture of corruption among folks who are taking money from us to finance their misdeeds is overwhelming.

I would like for the crooks to be manually making fine gravel. Joe

Hope he rots the rest of his life away in prison…

We go to jail and we lose any VA benefits that we earn. Methinks that it should be the same in regards to government pensions for anyone who is convicted for a felony.

A Proud Infidel & Patriot

I hope Bubba & Thor pimp him out to the most sadistic inmates in his prison.

How long do these people think they can do these things without being caught?

In 2011, after I became the lone public whistle-blower exposing the Dental Clinic mess and demanding, on several newscast that Guy B. Richardson, the then VA Director be removed, they brought Montague in. Shortly afterward I met with Montague about several issues concerning the mistreatment of Vets, the lack of CWT positions as well as my being blackballed from employment at the Dayton VA. Montague told me “Well, you kicked dirt on the umpire”. As a non-sports person I had no idea what he was saying and simply went back to my talking points. After speaking with my brother (who IS a sports person…A sports nut actually” and he explained to me what Montague was saying I hit the roof. I wrote Secretary Shinseki, filing a formal complaint about how I was treated and I posted on multiple sites my experience with him. The local media told me “Well, you were right about the Dental Clinic but Bill Montague has an excellent record and we think you are simply becoming obsessed with the VA”. Well….Now…… I wonder what they have to say?

The VA is so corrupt that it’s hard to say if Montague is guilty, or being eliminated before he could make a difference.

It’s interesting living in a world where Infowars is as credible as CNN.

I hate to post this statement. If the fraud is true, what besides money were the Vets shorted of? Joe
