Jeffrey Elvington; Casanova bandit arrested again

| June 6, 2013

You may remember when we wrote about Jeffrey “Casanova” Elvington when he went to jail earlier this year. He played Army hero while he conned women out of their savings and their credit card numbers. Here’s some of his phony finery;

Well, it seems that he’s out on bail and back at his chosen profession according to an LA local CBS station;

Elvington was arrested for a second time Tuesday on charges related to grand theft and burglary. He was released pending further investigation, according to authorities.

Authorities said most of the victims have been from the Santa Clarita Valley area.

They maintain he often told elaborate tales about his career or background to make himself more desirable. In one case he apparently implied he was a personal chef to the stars. He allegedly told another victim he was working for the government and the military in the special forces.

The police think that there are more victims out there and they ask that you contact Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, Detective Elsee at (661) 255-1121 if you’ve had contact with him.

These types of fraud are rampant. Hardly a day goes by that someone doesn’t email us about some scammer trying to get money out of someone they know. Mostly, they’re telling women that they need money to deploy back from Afghanistan. I suspect that soon they’ll be asking for cab fare so they don’t have to walk their patrols.

Turd. So when does Stolen Valor go in to affect?
Can this assbag be charged with that as well?

Combat Historian

Is the “SNIPER” tab on his ACU sleeve an official tab? Or did the casanova grifter make that one up out of his own tab fantasy?

Hondo

ChipNASA: I’m guessing his recent crimes all predate the new SVA’s signing a couple of days ago. The Constitutional prohibition on ex post facto laws would seem to make it impossible for him to be prosecuted under the new law for those acts.

He can, however, still be prosecuted for fraud by state/local authorities.

Flagwaver

The only tabs authorized for wear by individuals are GOVERNOR’S TWENTY (for National Guard), PRESIDENT’S HUNDRED, SAPPER, SPECIAL FORCES, and RANGER. Units may wear AIRBORNE, HONOR GUARD, and MOUNTAIN tabs over their unit patch.

With that said, there are other tabs that are unofficial. Those include AIR ASSAULT, FISTER, JUNGLE EXPERT (discontinued in 1999), RECON, SCOUT, and SNIPER. If worn, they cannot be visible, so some people wear them on the underside of pocket flaps or otherwise hidden on the uniform.

I know this because in my old unit, our scouts all wore sniper tabs sewn under the flap of their boonie caps in the back. Technically against AR 670-1, but they were not seen when the uniform was worn properly.

#4: That makes sense, because I have never seen a ‘SNIPER” tab openly worn on ACUs. Casanova grifter got his “SNIPER” tab on his ACUs, but I’m sure he’s not a big follower of AR 670-1 anyway…

Old Trooper

Why is this POS still on the street? It’s not like he won’t continue to do his bs, because he didn’t stop after being arrested the first time. Throw him in the jug until he goes to court for the first round of his crimes.

@3 Hondo, “effect” (duh) and yes, you’re probably right, It was only signed Monday so yes, starting Monday and afterwards, it’s GAME ON!

Veritas Omnia Vincit

Stories like this make me wish public caning was an available corrective tool for the judicial system…

DirtDiver

There has never been a jungle expert tab, nor sniper anyone wearing
Anything to the contrary would be as bad as this guy.

NHSparky

FISTER? And you give us Navy guys shit? Fer reals?

Sparks

I am thinking of making some 3X5 cards with the jist of the new SVA and its punishments to hand out to the phoneys I see. I know they won’t care because their secret service covers all the shit they wear but I would like to put the fear of the Lord in at least a few.

Hondo

NHSparky: FIST = “Fire Support Team”. They direct artillery and in some cases close air support for deployed ground forces.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_Support_Team

And yeah – there are some rather “colorful” expressions using the acronym. “FISTER” is one of the milder ones. (smile)

A Proud Infidel & Patriot

@10, NHSparky, YEAH, I reclassified to FISTer last year, we’re Field Artillery FO’s Forward Observers, Pilots, Mortar & Gun Crews, we. Go out in the boonies and TELL ‘EM WHERE TO PUT IT!!

FISTers DO IT DEEPER!

MrBill

Hard to match FIST, but – Years ago when my reserve unit reported directly to Fifth Army, I’d sometimes have dealings with the 5A Personnel Service Support Team. Their official acronym was PSST; we’d refer to them as the “PiSS Team”.

Green Thumb

Phildo’s brother.

Bam Bam

Yeah even knowing what a “Fister” is doesn’t make the tab any better. Might as well have a swallower tab for for the presidents food taster.

Hondo

Speaking of unauthorized tabs, this one’s probably my favorite:

Hide your sisters, here come the FISTERS.
