Union echo chamber

| October 2, 2008

The Virginia Education Association was so sure that their members are so solidly pro-Obama, they sent out an email the other day encouraging them to campaign for Obama in the classroom according to the Washington Times;

The VEA is an affiliate of the National Education Association, the country’s largest teachers union.

“Schools should be perfectly neutral,” Virginia resident Julie Aurora said Wednesday. “They should teach students how to think, not what to think.”

The e-mail said teachers should wear blue Tuesday for “Obama Blue Day” and to “register two voters or talk to two people who may be on the fence/or a McCain supporter and sway them to become a Obama supporter.”

The e-mail also states: “There are people out there not yet registered. You teach some of them.”

Delegate Jeffrey M. Frederick, Prince William Republican and chairman of the state party, said: “It is an outrageous breach of public trust and an abuse of taxpayer resources that teachers chose to use school grounds as a political base.”

What brain surgeon thought that up? That’s typical of the echo-chamber effect, though. I’m sure they figured that since everyone THEY know supports Obama, everyone else must also. There are going to be some disappointed Democrats in November, I’ll tell ya what.

Let’s hope there will be PEST infected Dems Nov 5. McCain has got to pick it up. But, on the flip side, if Barry wins, all these Barry supporters will soon realize that they just paid a lot of money for a lemon they cannot return for 4 years. Can’t you just hear them all saying “but, but, but, Barry said he would lower my taxes! He said he would take care of me!”

Even the dumbest of Dems thinks they live in a Manhattan cocktail party world.
