New Orleans shooting at Mothers’ Day Parade

| May 13, 2013

NOLA Mothers Day

As Sporkmaster reported earlier, at least nineteen people in New Orleans were injured yesterday when a Patriot Tea Partier opened fire on a crowd for no apparent reason. A picture of the obviously right wing extremist is at the top of this post. From NBC40;

The victims included 10 men, seven women, a boy and a girl. The children, both 10 years old, were grazed and in good condition.

It’s not the first time gunfire has shattered a festive mood in the city this year. Five people were wounded in January after a Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade, and four were wounded in a shooting in the French Quarter in the days leading up to Mardi Gras.

“The specialness of the day doesn’t appear to interrupt the relentless drumbeat of violence,” Mayor Mitch Landrieu said at a news conference outside a hospital where victims were being treated Sunday night.

Mary Beth Romig, a spokeswoman for the FBI in New Orleans, said federal investigators have no indication the shooting was an act of terrorism.

“It’s strictly an act of street violence in New Orleans,” she said.

Yeah, well, to me anytime someone opens fire on a crowd of innocent, unarmed people, it’s terrorism. While there is no one taking credit for the act, someone did it to get some attention for something. The police suspect that more one shooter was on the scene making their point punctuated with gun fire.

No sheepdogs WTF!

Old Trooper

Personally, I think it was a roving gang of 2nd Amendment rightwing extremists. Doesn’t that dude have a “I support the NRA” t-shirt on?

Ok, in all seriousness, it was probably gangbangers seeing some rivals and opening up on them, and then you have the usual “return fire” and these people were caught in the crossfire. Surprisingly, this happens a lot, it’s just that there usually aren’t that many people in the crossfire.

Redguards gonna Redguard.

Drugs, gangs, guns.

Mix well and enjoy.

Sparks

@2 and @4 I agree. Thugs, no education, gang related, on drugs and with guns. What a cowardly shame these a–holes are. I agree that is an act of terrorism. Let’s treat them as such.

faboutlaws

They sure can shoot and dance.

Hondo

Obviously Lance Jones (commenting on Facebook – see above) missed the fact that Jonn was being sarcastic in the article regarding the shooter being a “Patriot Tea Partier”.

Sparks

@6 ROTFLMAO thanks.

PintoNag

They’ve had shootings at the parades before. Wouldn’t you think a couple of police snipers positioned along the route would be a cost-effective way of instilling some manners in these punks?

@9 Two words: Danziger Bridge.

Retired NOPD Officer David Benelli explains at around 3:25 why they’d need some serious EOF refresher training before I’d be cool with that.

A Proud Infidel

NOLA, a city built below sea level, and filled with dhimmicrats! It’s at the bottom of the bucket in publick edjicayshun, so the gangs have plenty of illiterate idiots to recruit from…. Could it have been a “Cappin'” because some gang-boy flashed his “sign” and the fool on the other side of the street just “HAD” to “cap” him over it?

USMCE8Ret

@10 – Danziger Bridge was a cover up, too. The ROE in that city have long since been out of whack, even before Katrina.

Cajun

@12 Nuff said. Just part of our legendary corruption in general.

All I am saying is, “If Obama had a son…”

Democrat policies leave New Orleans a third world hellhole, Democrats call to ban law-abiding gun ownership!! (C’mon, left/libtards, you know you want to.)
