US to begin withdrawal from Wardak

| March 20, 2013

The US command structure has reached a deal with the Taliban’s real commander, Hamid Karzai for withdrawing US troops from the Wardak Provence to comply with the Afghanistan’s president’s demands a few weeks ago, according to the Associated Press;

The international military coalition said in a Wednesday statement that commander Gen. Joseph Dunford agreed with Karzai to remove troops first from Nerkh district of Wardak province and then later from other districts. The statement says international forces and members of a government-backed militia force will be replaced with Afghan army and police.

The US had disagreed with Karzai’s characterization that special forces soldiers were running amuck in the provence near Kabul, but they’ll capitulate to Karzai. If we’re going to risk our forces and subjegate them to the whims of the Taliban senior commander, Karzai, then we might as well leave tomorrow morning.

“…and the horse he rode in on.”

Al T.

GTFO!

rb325th

Burn to the ground everything we have there that cannot be removed and leave.

TSO

Wardak is where S6R, Sniper, 1SGB and the rest of my unit served. So this is kind of sad. Or it is for me anyway.

NHSparky

then we might as well leave tomorrow morning

THIS morning would be better. Screw Karzai and the goat he rode in on.

The Sniper

As you recall, TSO and I were in Wardak. I cannot remember if he made it to Nerkh with us, but I’ll tell you the place is a shit hole overrun with Taliban. They love to play both sides of the coin taking whatever aid we will send during the day and then trying to kill us at night. They bitch and moan and say “oh, it’s not us, it’s the ‘stealers of the night'” [No shit: they actually called the “stealers of the night”] when we would go around questioning villagers the next day when we know damned good and well where the shit came from. I don’t have a problem with most Daris but the Pashtuns and particularly those in Wardak and PARTICULARLY those in Nerkh could all set themselves on fire tomorrow and I wouldn’t cross the street to piss on them to put them out.

Fuck them.

The Sniper

And yes, S6R was there with us the whole time but I forgot he posted here. I have no idea who 1SGB but VTWoody was there with us, too.

PintoNag

It’s time to bring them all home.

ComancheDoc

screw Nerkh, tangi valley, sayadabad, chakh, jagatu, salar, madan shar. just end this farce now and come home

Flagwaver

I hate this whole nation-building crap. If we get attacked, we go in, kill everyone in uniform that doesn’t surrender. Hang anyone fighting who is caught without a uniform (according to the Geneva Convention), take away their ability to fight, and leave. When the troops get home, toss them a beer, a college cheerleader, and celebrate with a feast!

What is the international community going to do? Not like us more? Screw getting the permission of the government of that country. If they aren’t willing to help us accomplish our mission, then perhaps we should see about adding a couple of cruise missiles to their infrastructure. Maybe the next government will pay closer attention to the powerpoint about how not to screw with America.

Ex-PH2

College cheerleader?

Well, that’s fine for the guys, but what do the girls get, Flagwaver?

Just get everybody out now, under cover of darkness, and boobytrap what you can’t take with you.

USMCE8Ret

General Dunford will be the next to retire after this.

Just watch.

Twist

I didn’t get a college cheerleader when I came home. I feel cheated.

Al T.

Ex-PH2, there are male cheerleaders too, I’m just sayin….

Ex-PH2

I’d like a spa weekend with a really good massage therapist thrown in. I’m sure if you asked the women coming back, they’d say the same thing. Pampering outdoes a can of beer every time.

As long as the male cheeleaders are wearing chitons, fine, but they’d better be lean and ripped and carrying scary black weapons. I’m demanding.

NHSparky

Five Westpacs, no cheerleaders, female or male.

I feel cheated.
