Kokesh being Kokesh
After his last video in which he took up for gun owners, I sent Adam Kokesh an email and complimented him. But then he goes out makes this ideo in which he tries to get a Sergeant First Class (not a Staff Sergeant, Adam) at work during the inauguration to admit that he’s a pawn in the great military industrial complex. The Sergeant First Class Staff Sergeant does the best he can with the situation and Kokesh keeps pushing it and then concludes that the troops will come and take our guns without asking questions.
Yeah, I feel uncomfortable for the young sergeant just doing his job and being harangued by Kokesh. Of course he has a mind of his own and will question orders that he thinks are unconstitutional and he’s not going to make stupid statements on camera.
Also notice that Kokesh starts trying to sell Oathkeepers to the young sergeant. That’s why I don’t like Oathkeepers – they supported Kokesh’s candidacy in his Congressional race two years ago. We don’t need a club to obey the oath of service. I noticed that he mentions his membership in Oathkeepers, but not IVAW.
Kokesh is back to calling himself a sergeant again. He was discharged as a corporal after he was busted from sergeant for smuggling a pistol back from Iraq.

That NCO is a better man than I. Kudos for the restraint. I don’t have an ounce of patience for patronizing little weasels like Kokesh. I would have come unglued after about 30 seconds but you know, that is probably exactly what he was trying for.
That SGT did a fine job. He could have dressed him down, but he took the high road. The interviewer Kokesh was rude disrespectful and borderline disorderly. I would have called for Metro back up, once they arrived, walked away.
I grade the SGT at an A+ for not punching him in the throat!

Adam will never change, at least in any foreseeable future that I am able see. Oh wait, he’s an “Oathkeeper”…Those that I do know Adam, are honorable people and don’t lie about their service. You screwed the pooch, you were caught and owned up to it to a point. Why don’t you knock the crap off and admit for once, you were reduced in rank to corporal, paid the price on a weapons smuggling beef (though I would have rather have seen you spend time at Leavenworth Barracks) and leave it at that?
Oathkeepers, Paulbots, douchenozzles (but I repeat myself) need a good swift kick in the ass to jar their brains loose because I’m guessing their sphincters have cut off all circulation past the carotid artery.
At least this tool didn’t try running for Congress again last year.
How did someone who got busted for curb stomping their crank get busted to CPL instead of SPC?
@7 – If my mind serves me correctly, Kokesh was reduced 1 rank as the result of an administrative discharge board, which was convened in his absence while he was a member of the IRR. He waived his right to appear and argue his case. That’s pretty standard, and he got a General Under Honorable Conditions characterization of service.
Awesome job, SFC ‘Bob’. He handled that tremendously well.
@8, SPC/CPL are the same paygrade. One is an NCO and the other is not. I don’t see how a SGT can get busted and be allowed to remain an NCO. The other thing as I am not really familiar with this guy, he could of been a Marine and I let my fingers do the walking on my keyboard before I thought it through.
All service members already swear an oath regarding the United States Constitution so I don’t understand why or how claiming to protect it a second time is going to change anything. This turdo should have been kicked out of the military and how he was able to steal a weapon then try to illegally import it to the United States without getting a dishonorable is incredible. He must have sucked some major penis in public affairs to get that outcome being in the land of super pogs.
Twist–he was in the Corps. I asked a few folks from back where I went to HS (where Kokesh ran for Congress in 2010) if they knew his background.

My hat’s off to the Staff Sgt for the way he comported himself, way more mature than I would have been in his position. And yes Jonn, pretty sure he’s an E6, I only see one rocker on that hat.
OK, to clarify the Kokesh saga; He was busted to corporal because he was a Marine (Reserves) and they don’t have specialist rank. He was busted years before the administrative board. The board convened to reconsider the character of his discharge when a captain emailed him about wearing his uniform in DC at a protest against the war and Kokesh got douchy with the captain. So his discharge thing was separate from the gun smuggling thing. After the smuggling thing, he tried to deploy back to Iraq and they wouldn’t send him because of the smuggling thing, so that’s when he became anti-war.
He didn’t run for Congress this time because at some of his 2010 rallies in NM, some of our friends showed up and handed out copies of pages from this blog to his supporters. I guess he figured that he couldn’t outrun us anymore.
Yes, because the military is just going to blindly go out and do whatever the president says without question… Here is a secret that I can tell because I am no longer in the military, but very few in the military like the president. If he said, “hey military I want you to confiscate all the guns in the US.” I do truly believe that DC or wherever the President is would be in more danger from the military than any citizen with a gun.
You can almost see the moment SSG Bob realizes what he is talking to and he engages what I used to call “Dumb Sargey” mode. “Whatever you say sir…” “If that’s how you want to put it sir…” – Of course, it takes Kokesh a few minutes to figure out that the SSG Bob is utterly unimpressed with the verbal diarrhea spewing from his piehole and is not: “…as dumb as you make yourself out to be…”
SSG Bob should get a medal for maintaining his military bearing, and for just plain not allowing himself to be used by a douchebag.
BTW – the phrase “Dumb Sargey” is not intended to be derrogatory in any way. It is a defense mechanism against being drawn into stupid conversations with people like Kokesh and was very skillfully employed by SSG Bob.

@15 – I agree with you. I think the military would continue to defend the Constitution, and NOT fall in line with the interpretation that it’s been given these past few years within the beltway.
Obviously, if the military were to start taking up weapons from the American people on order from the WH, we wouldn’t be living in America anymore.
A few months prior to my Honorable Discharge, I was busted from Sergeant to Corporal for insubordination.
Gosh, gee whillikers, I didn’t know I could still call myself a “Sergeant”!
I remember one of my sergeants telling me that Corporals were the most dangerous people in the Army, because Adolph Hitler and Napoleon Bonaparte were both corporals.
Is that true?
Of course, when I went into the Utah State Guard (also known as the Utah State Defense Force), they eventually made me a First Sergeant.
But, that really doesn’t count.
The State Guard, or State Defense Force, unlike the National Guard, is NOT (supposed to be) an official component of the United States Army, even though we used National Guard facilities and were required to be trained by the United States Army and Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The really nice thing about being in the State Defense Force (which is your TRUE “Minuteman” militia, and NOT the National Guard, which is merely part of the United States Army – – – BIG difference!) was that as unpaid volunteers, we were required to furnish our own uniforms, field gear, weapons, ammunition, rations, and transportation, which meant that we were always prepared with our equipment stored in our vehicles to respond at a moment’s notice.
All of that stuff was OUR personal equipment, purchased at our own expense.
So, to this very day, I still have all of my TA-50 issue, although most of it is probably obsolete and no longer used by anyone but us few Rebel insurgents.

My highest respect and compliments to the young SSG for his professionalism. I’m not sure that could have been as well behaved. That’s yet another reason why I retired as an O-4 and not as an O-5.
Funny thing is, his minions ramble on about military having a lack of “independent thought”, but don’t realize Kokesh (knowing damn well how it works and that this guy will give answers as a professional) plays on it and feeds it to them, and they eat it up like the useless idiots they are.
The reason that Corprals are the most dangerous rank in the army is that is they get all the crap details that SGTs don’t want to do and are pissed off about it.
I had to blow up the picture to check his rank, too. It sure looked liked two rockers under three to me in the video, though.
The Sargent did the right thing. Had he replied in any negative way towards asshat with regards to his officers or the president he could have been subject to punishment under the UCMJ art 134 as well as other articles.
If asshat had any desire to truly help those that served or in this case still on active duty he would never have put them in that situation.

Kokesh is not only an idiot, but a JA. Any Veteran should know that a Soldier cannot discuss politics in uniform, and any one that “supports the troops” wouldn’t put them in such a spot.
As to “Oathkeepers,” Kokesh is the worst publicity they could acquire. Long ago, the organization was pointed out to me, and it was just vague and shady enough that I maintained an observable distancee. The concept, i.e. maintaining a working knowledge of the Constitution, and maintaining the Oath we all swore, to the US Constitution, is honorable. There are a number of young Troops these days that do not understand the Constitution which they swore to uphold. But nowhere in the Constituion or the Oath sworn to it, does it afford Pvt Snuffy, or General Goofoff, the right or authority to determine who the duly elected POTUS is.
The Military MUST, necessarily, maintain itself as officially neutral of politics. That does not mean that, individually, Troops give up their Rights, nor does it mean that they cannot have a political opinion, but that they must divorce the uniform from their politics. It means that a Soldier must necessarily be clear in differentiating between his individual opinions, and the independence of politics of the Military in which he works.
And SSG “Bob” did a great job, but I was able to decipher the true answer to Kokesh’s question: “What do you think?” The real answer was “I’d like to punch you in the face. Get the f*** away from me you idiot.” Instead, SSG Bob latched onto reality, and a classic SERE technique of passive resistance, when he noted the annoyance of Kokesh to being called “sir” like any common civilian. Not only did SSG Bob continue to point out the civilian nature of his interrogator, but used the term more prolifically upon his realization of it.
He hasn’t changed much from several years ago when he got in my 5ft 4in 110lb girlfriends face in Maine and screamed at her. A coward and pos. Anything to avoid getting a real job. If he is so against the war why isn’t he and the rest of the libtards protesting King Obama’s Inauguration and the WH on a daily basis?
