We Hold These Truths…

When in the course of human events
We must sever ourselves from the other,
Because of our mounting, essential dissents
We must seek out some way or another;
To return to the state which Nature entitles
Our freedom from federal oppression,
We must seek to restore our natural vitals
Even should that require mass aggression.

We hold these truths to be self-evident,
That all men are created equal;
With inalienable rights eternally meant
To endow the least of the people.
To seize these rights is our natural due,
To hold them our natural task;
To preserve them depends solely on who
Will offer his life when it’s asked.

Government’s created solely by men,
And exists by consent of those ruled.
Its durance depending solely on when
Those governed are no longer fooled.
It is then our right, our duty no less,
To throw off the yoke of oppression;
Bloodless we hope, but blood need it be,
Determined by federal aggression.

We declared these rights in centuries past,
Our hope they would last through the ages.
The present would leave Founding Fathers aghast
With the current result of their wages.
The answer is simple, we must stand up tall
When we face national disintegration;
Stand up for your country and answer the call,
Lock and load for your nation’s salvation.

Hold every hard weapon close to your chest,
Let it feed from your patriot’s heart;
Your right to bear it let no one contest
A right granted from our very start:
To preserve and protect all life you hold dear
To save this nation you cherish;
To forego all qualms and all natural fear,
Fighting free until you shall perish.

He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good. He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them. He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only. He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures. He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people. He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the Legislative powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within. He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands. He has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary powers. He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries. He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance. He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures. He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power. I’m just pointing out how many of the issues the Founding Fathers cited in the Declaration of Independence now apply to the President and most of the political elites in DC.

YMMV, but I doubt they do that much.

We are citizens of these several states, not subjects of a boy king and petty prince.

We need to restrict the federal government to only those things enumerated within the Constitution, and in every case, hold them to a strict interpretation, not some general sweeping statement of powers.

We the people need to return to our nation the concept of free men and free markets, each man the rightful owner of his wages and properties, with only such taxes asked of him as are the bare minimum to operate the government as permitted and required under the Constitution.

Article the 12th – The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively or to the people. (The powers reserved to the States or to the people.)

Maybe we just need to clear the decks, get back to basics, start over and see what an elegantly simple system of government is all that is required. Geezo-pete, it was all spelled out 246 years ago this July. There has never been any reason to fiddle with it. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

You guys have to remember that if you don’t have radicals in a free society, then you don’t have a free society. They keep us at the center of the road, which is where we should be. Maybe some things need to be changed to accomodate a larger population than existed in the 18th century. Maybe we need to take the media, as a whole, to task over their ego trips.

We have the right to do these things. Why else do you have a forum like this?

Remember, it’s spelled out in plain English: a government OF the people, BY the people and FOR the people, not of, by and for a certain few.

And just as a side note, when Mikhail Gorbachev dissolved the Politburo and sent everybody home, declaring the end of the USSR in the summer of 1989, he said “I am a Communist, but even I can see that it does not work.”

The Declaration of Independence was written on one sheet of paper, it can be read in about 10 minutes and understood by
most people. It just maybe the greatest document ever written
unlike the garbage coming out of congress today.
