Obama won’t be “putting off” gun control
In an interview with the crowd at “Meet the Press” who don’t see a problem with breaking DC gun laws, President Obama will guarantee base Democrat voters that he won’t forsake their agenda, according to the Washington Post;
Obama, who recently established a task force led by Vice President Biden to offer recommendations for how to best curb gun violence, also pushed back against an idea the National Rifle Association put forth following the mass shooting earlier this month at a school in Newtown, Conn. As gun control advocates called for tighter restrictions, the NRA urged that armed guards be placed in schools to deter and defend against future acts of violence.
“I am skeptical that the only answer is putting more guns in schools. And I think the vast majority of the American people are skeptical that that somehow is going to solve our problem,” Obama said.
Obama reiterated his support for a ban on military-style assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines that gun control advocates in Congress have said they will be pushing for.
So much for the “national conversation” we’re supposed to be having. A “national conversation” actually means for those of us who support the constitutional guarantees, that we should sit down and STFU while they preach to us.
I’m not exactly comfortable with the idea that Joe Biden will be dictating our policy to us – you know the guy whose robot-ninja-zombies policy in Afghanistan has done such a bang up job. The guy who thought that we should partition Iraq. The guy who opposed the first Gulf War. The guy who has been absolutely wrong on every single policy issue since he went to the Senate. Now he’s going to interpret the Constitution for us.
So all of you gun owners who didn’t bother to go to the polls last month, I just want to say “thank you”. I’m not sure that Romney would have been much different, but at least he could be bullied. Those of you who think that this can stopped in the House, look at the great job they’ve been doing the last few years holding the line against Obama’s policies. The most we can expect, I suppose, is the spectacle of John Boehner weeping on national TV.

From the Brady viewpoint – last time they put Biden in charge he left too many loopholes” – I suspect they will push to get a modified version of Feinstein’s laundry list and Biden will be left on the sidelines. One can only hope he actually IS in charge; maybe his track record of 100% f*cking up a free lunch will extend further. Unfortunately, this time the anti-gunners smell blood in the water and will try to get everything they can. Expect a ‘debate’ like “We want them all” “You can’t do that” “What are you , a baby-killer?” to occur.

Huh? Are there ANY gun owners who think that a guy in the hand of a psychotic is okay? He plays this game well, obama does. And he knows that most of America is stupid enough to blindly follow him. The proof is in last month’s election.

He thinks like most of his ilk: 1) the “bad” guns are flooding in from outside of those cities, 2) bad guns shouldn’t be in the hands of the populace, 3) there is no such thing as a good gun.
I wish they would have the guts to just come right out and say what they really want, which is full-on confiscation. Instead, they will puss out and parrot these mildly coded buzz words designed to make pillow biters feel like they’re still supporting the Constitution while openly campaigning to subvert it.
I keep wondering where he gets this “Vast Majority” of gun owners Bullshit. Maybe the majority that voted for him and they should all line up and turn in their guns along with their man cards.
Hmmm, seems that Chicago passed the 500 mark for murders yesterday. The last time that Chicago passed the 500 mark for murders was in 2008.
Cause and effect? Obama gets elected in’08, Chicago tops 500 murders, Obama gets re-elected in ’12, Chicago tops 500 murders.
The beat goes on, in the city with some of the toughest gun control laws in the world.
Only free men can own weapons.

My father-in-law moved his family here from Cambodia after narrowly escaping Pol Pot’s killing fields. He has told me that in Cambodia he was a peasant, but in America he’s a citizen. He defines the difference as follows: a citizen can defend himself and his family from tyranny. He has been a hardcore conservative ever since they got here, because he doesn’t want his children or grandchildren to suffer the kind of hell he and his wife endured.
This man has now entrusted me to love, honor, and above all PROTECT his daughter. I cannot do that as a peasant. I can only do that as a WELL-ARMED citizen.

Ha. This brings to mind Reagan’s farewell speech from the Oval Office, where he recounted an incident a U.S. sailor told him about standing watch aboard ship in the E. Pacific when a pitiful boat loaded with escaping South Vietnamese came into view.

No matter how much lipstick you put on the gun control pig, in the end (middle and front), it’s still a pig.
My question is, “How far will the American people go before this either blows up in their face or blows up in the administrations face?” I absolutely support the Constitution of The UNITED STATES and the Bill of Rights. My fear is that I will be among a very few standing a line and my family will pay for that stance. My family understands my beliefs and will support them, but at what cost, without the support of like minded citizens?
This may sound extreme, but, it really rides on my mind, as I know what I will do to protect the ideas of my fore fathers and my country. This administration scares the shit out of me in what they are going to force on the nation. Will we have the balls and back bone to stop it?
Well, with all the examples of Obama just going around congress to do what he wants, it wouldn’t surprise me if he just issues another executive order to bypass them, once again.
And this just in from the morning news: the last-ditch business on the ‘fiscal cliff’ has resulted in an agreement to lift the income level on tax increases to $400,000.
Anyone here quailify for a tax increase?
The cliff still looms ahead of us. It will loom large in the legend of the current administration.
No and those who are not amused by gun control are not putting off their agenda either.
Without the SCOTUS or the republican’s backing the constitution and bill of rights the agenda will proceed as fast as Obama does.
