Feinstein’s onerous gun ban
Yup, gun control writ large is coming to the Senate floor, boy-os. Feinstein has published on her website what she intends to present to the Senate come January. She wants to specifically ban 120 weapons and reduce the “military characteristics clause” from the 1994 bill from two to one – in other words just having a bayonet lug, flash suppressor or pistol grip by themselves will get a gun banned. And she’s including “thumbhole stocks” for the first time.
Handguns are included in the ban, specifically if they’ll accommodate a magazine larger than ten rounds.
Think you’re grandfathered? Yep, you are. But;
Requires that grandfathered weapons be registered under the National Firearms Act, to include:
o Background check of owner and any transferee;
o Type and serial number of the firearm;
o Positive identification, including photograph and fingerprint;
o Certification from local law enforcement of identity and that
possession would not violate State or local law; and
o Dedicated funding for ATF to implement registration
In other words, they’re coming for your guns – why else register them? And what sheriff wants to sign a piece of paper certifying that you won’t commit a crime at some point in the future? I’m pretty sure that I went through a background check when I purchased my guns. And then again when when I applied for my CCW license. Fingerprint? You mean like a criminal gets fingerprinted? Like that?

I personally don’t think any legislation for a AWB will the House, so I’m not too worried. Though, even if someting does pass I don’t think it will be anywhere close to the bill DiFi is going to propose. Also, never underestimate the ingenuity of private companies in the firearms industry, they WILL find some way around whatever gets proposed (if it even passes) and we’ll still have basically the same rifles/pistols as before.
That being said, I’m just sitting back and watching everyone loose they’re heads in gun shops and online. Hell, I’ve been seeing complete AR15 lower recievers going for $600-700 on gunbroker and it’s making me eye my complete lower like a huge pile of cash instead of half a rifle.
We have a POTUS who will push through to grab guns without going through congress or the SCOTUS.
Obama will just start and if it leads to a national Ruby Ridge they don’t care. Obama’s mentor stated quite clearly they are willing to kill 25 million Americans to enact their manifesto.
Don’t fool your self about the LEO, they will do as ordered to do by their leaders as will the military.
Driving a wedge between the citizens and the military is already underway and if you believe American soldiers won’t obey orders to disarm Americans then you are fooling your self.
Large numbers of career military Officers have been purged those not purged will want to keep their commissions and they will shoot anyone who does not obey the POTUS.
The main drawback is the majority of Americans will surrender their rights without a fight due to being fat, dumb,m happy and comfortable.
Expect suspension of 2d, 4th, and 5th amendments coming after the first gun collection efforts are rebuffed, after that comes the addresses of gun owners being outed and then predator drone strikes.
Obama will ram this down our throats just like he did with everything else he has done.

Or just an Enemy of this nations current democrat government.
Most people don’t understand the Constitution and Bill of Rights don’t mean anything to these democrats. neither does the will of the people.
They intend to have gun confiscation and are quite willing to kill American citizens to achieve this goal their views are if you own a gun you are already a criminal.
What the bill will look like in its final version I do not know but I disagree with the consensus regarding the defeat of such a bill. There will be a bill and it will pass and obama can sign it with the words, “This is not what we hoped for but it’s a start.”
Well now for some lighter fare if it was not true. Everyone points to Great Brittan as their model for gun control, well, since violent crime is on the increase there the “experts” now want to ban kitchen knives.

@55, That’s old news, the article is from 2005. That article has been copied and copied, and is 7 years old.
Nowhere is there any legislation passed by either House of Parliament mentioned, which means it did not happen.

Yeah, that’s right. NOTHING. And if you are going to say that Valerie Jarrett actually said that, you had better provide a direct quote that is not a gossip feed from someone who says they heard that from someone else who says they think they heard her say that.
I have no use for that woman. As far as I’m concerned, she is nothing more than a modern-day version of Rasputin. But when you insist on spreading gossip instead of reporting facts, you lose me as an audience. I have no use for that, nor will I listen to it.
Ex-PH2: I had seen it in a few places today and then did a search to see if was posted in a real news site. My bad for not reading the date in the small print. I still is scary that someone still proposed the idea.
@58 – I did a search for related legislation that the UK Parliament might have passed over the 7 years since that article was written and found nothing.
Also, until my TV went blank on 9/30/12, I watched the FoodTV channel daily for 7 years and the Cooking channel daily starting in 2010, both of which featured professional UK chefs like Jamie Oliver (the Naked Chef), Nigella Lawson, and Gordon Ramsey and not one of their shows lacked large and long pointed kitchen knives.
When I originally saw that article a few years ago, I started watching more closely, especially Gillian McKeith, a vegan health guru, got her show going in 2010, and everyone on her show doing their own cooking was using large and long pointed kitchen knives.
I think the reaction to the idea overall was that it was as ludicrous as wrapping your children in inflated rubber clothing just in case they tripped and fell.
