Last minute endorsements

| November 5, 2012

500 retired flag officers are sponsoring an ad in the Washington Times today endorsing Mitt Romney for President.

In plain terms the officers, who paid for the ad themselves, said they support Mr. Romney: “We, the undersigned, proudly support Governor Mitt Romney as our nation’s next president and commander-in-chief.”

The ad then goes on to list all of the officers, in alphabetical order, in four columns of print.

OK, that’s great, but where have you guys been the last four years? It seems to me that 500 flag officers endorsing Romney could have done a lot more by spreading out across the country talking for him than a simple list in a conservative newspaper. But, I’m sure it’s just a way to piss off Marty Dempsey who thinks we should all sit down and shut up when we’re talking about his boss.

Not on the list is Colin Powell, of course, because he’s his own man who votes his conscience (snickering here).

In other not-news, John Hawkins of Right Wing News polled conservative bloggers yesterday for our choice, and *surprise!* 92.6% of us are admitting that we’re voting for Romney and we expect Romney to win.

So I guess the election is all sown up since everyone you expect to vote for Romney is still voting for him.

By the way, by popular demand, TAH will be live-blogging the election returns tomorrow night, so mark your calenders.

I have to be in Boston all day tomorrow at the VA hospital. Assuming they don’t hold me over for surgery (which they very well might do) I’ll be home around 10pm and log in then to join the festivities.

Gotta remember to pick up a bottle and a 6-pack on the way home, too, to help temper my excitement if Romney, as expected wins, or to dampen my anger issues if the Resident gets another four years.

AW1Tim..

Have that bottle ready long before hand. Remember the old saying:

“Drink early and drink often”

Good luck at the VA. That experience is enough to test even the steeliest nerves.

Oh, by the way, saw this in the AP:

“Here in President Barack Obama’s ancestral village in Kenya, witch doctor John Dimo tossed some shells, bones and other items to determine who will win Tuesday’s election.

After throwing the objects like so many dice outside his hut in Kogelo village, Dimo, who says he is 105 years old, points to a white shell and declares: “Obama is very far ahead and is definitely going to win.”

That settles it, guess there’s no point in voting, the witch doctor has it all figured out.

OK…Tons of retired GO/FO are lobbyists for & or on board of directors of multitude of Fortune 500 Companies – largely geared to the defense industry. Not to be too cynical, but these retired brass have self-interests to protect – endorsing Romney isn’t personal, its just business.

How many of these GO/FO will follow the lead of retired Admiral James “Ace” Lyons and publicly pressure the POTUS to answer for Benghazi? I suspect not many…fearful their Pentagon special access privilages will be revoked.

The Redskins Rule. Lets hope it works like its supposed to!

Bears or Packers?

OK, I’m going crack open a bottle of Diet Coke, pop some popcorn in my Whirly-pop popcorn popper, turn on the cmoputer and watch the Dewey/Truman election on the radio.

Ex-PH2

Hey! I just saw this on the local news.

Ron Burgundy is telling everyone to get out and vote. He’ll do anything for you if you go vote. He’ll tattoo you if you vote. He’ll send you an owl, etc.

@6 Ex-PH2

Don’t bother watching the radio…Dewey wins! The press is never wrong:)

@ 1, you at West Rox? Hope whatever it is minor! Good luck!!

I am nervous about tomorrow, that my fellow constituents here in mass are going to be dumbasses and vote for the carpetbagger Warren. Such selective memory they have when the Liberal Machine spends millions on false advertising…

I hope to hell it is Romney winning tomorrow night. This country needs to change the direction we have been heading in.We need to change out the Senate and House too… term limits.

Washington Times is a moonie (that’s loony for the rest of you enlisted troops) POS. I don’t need to define POS do I?

Fine, you can all vote GOP. They cut VA benefits, you’re just a prop for them. Get out, you’re on the streets on your own.

I voted. For a real commander in chief, not a gutless bastard who screws American workers, put his money overseas and won’t release his tax returns.

But, hey, vote against your own interests, its the Republican way, they’re laughing all the way to the bank.

Twist

You voted for a Commander in Chief who left four Americans to die in Lybia? A CiC who wanted to have us pay for our combat related injuries out of our own pockets? How can you type that with a straight face?

UpNorth

Twist, if ex AF really is ex anything military, he inhaled way too much in the way of jet fuel fumes, or spent too much time cleaning grease traps. Ex AF is so disconnected from reality, he thinks that Joe Bite-Me makes sense when he opens his mouth.

Wedge

“real commander in chief”…hahahahahaha

ahhhhh, thanks…I needed that.

Seriously, who did you vote for?

NHSparky

not a gutless bastard who screws American workers, put his money overseas and won’t release his tax returns.

Um, dude? Hate to break it to ya, but Obama’s little “Porkulus” program “created” a hell of a lot more jobs in China than they did here. Just ask GE. Last I checked, Obamfuhrer has a few overseas bucks of his own, and again, last time I checked, has he released ANY of his college records, transcripts, financial aid forms, etc?

Now contrast that with Romney who in fact did release his tax returns, and did in fact help create jobs here both as head of a financial firm and as the Chief Executive of Massachusetts. Top that off with the fact we 1–know where he went to school, 2–who paid for it, 3–what kind of grades he made.

You may go now.

FOMSG

500 Generals and Admirals are supporting Romney?

I may have to reconsider my vote.

Hey, ex-AF, that iPad you’re using? Made in China by Foxconn. Costs Foxconn about $15 to make. Sells in the US for $400, and that’s the Walmart price.

Still think Bananahammock is such a great guy?
