Military Personnel Campaign Funds Favor Obama Over Romney

The Lede:

President Barack Obama has received almost twice as much in campaign contributions from U.S. military and Defense Department personnel as his Republican challenger Mitt Romney, despite Romney’s promises to boost defense spending and his criticism of military cuts set to take place in January.

Goes against everything I believe, but…

@40, no wonder you go by Anonymous, if the best you can cite is Snopes. Like I said, Obama’s words are his words. He said, “my father”, he didn’t say “my grandfather”, or anything else. So, he lied. But, thanks for proving my point, you are still trying to parse his words.

Not everyone without a DD-214 is a coward any more than everyone with a DD-214 is brave or heroic….

While I have my own concerns regarding Romney, I have zero confidence Obama gets the job done with another term. That about sums up the vote for me….neither man inspires me, neither man creates strong confidence that I am choosing between two truly strong leaders. My experience living in Massachusetts under Romney means I am voting for him…hopefully that choice turns out to be the better option.

When Barry’s administration is determined to fit the bill on the backs of veterans and the military to keep their programs running?

I still can’t comprehend how there are individuals in the service who don’t vote and don’t care. They say the President is just a figure head and has no power. I wish I could still give wall to wall counseling.

Twist

@40, Snopes even says that it was not his father or step-father and that is your proof?

@40

All that snopes article does is make excuses for him; it doesn’t change what he said.

I guess a valid argument could be made that Obama isn’t lying, he just doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about.

The headline conflates the “military” with “DoD personnel.” Everybody that is in the military is technically under the umbrella of the DoD, but just because somebody works for the DoD doesn’t make them military. That’s analogous to saying that everybody that works for the National Park Service is a Ranger…which obviously isn’t so. But lefty journalists sensationalize this crap…or outright lie about it.

There has to be a video link to this. I could only find a print article. Joey was making a campaing speech today and, this is what he said:

During the foreign policy portion of his stump speech, Biden made a mistake in talking about the troops. Neither presidential candidate has ruled out military action against Iran to stop its production of nuclear weapons, but the vice president jumped the gun a bit, referring to U.S. veterans who supposedly fought in Iran.

“How many of you know someone who served in Iraq or Iran?” Biden asked the audience.

In reply, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid raised his hand.

“How many of you know someone who has been injured or lost in Iraq or Iran?” Biden asked again.

Now, even I know the difference between Iran and AFGHANISTAN.

Apparently, he does not. And THIS is what might take over if Bo dropped dead of a cardiac infarction from smoking?

God help us!

Yes. Thank you!
