The Duffel Blog: Women’s Rights Activist Demands ‘Camouflage Ceiling’ Brought Down, More Females Killed In Combat

| July 16, 2012

Yes, there’s a Congresswoman Judy Chu, but this is The Duffel Blog, so we can be reasonably certain that she didn’t really say this, because The Duffel Blog is satire;

“Women make up 14.6% of the active duty military, but just 2.3% of the casualties,” complained Rep. Chu.

“Did you know that in the past decade, our military has only had 140 women killed in combat?” asked Rep. Chu. ”Compare that to more than six thousand men killed, and it paints a disturbing picture of a military reluctant to let women near the front lines. Obviously we have to find a way to narrow the casualty gap.”

And on the same subject, another satirical piece from The Duffel Blog reports; Gay Marines Protest Possibility Of Female Infantry;

Semper Pink spokesman Sergeant James Wagner, wearing a shirt that said “I keep my unit out of women, so keep women out of my unit,” said that allowing women into the infantry would force gay Marines to deal with lifestyle choices which they disagreed with.

“Plus, we didn’t join up to look at some nasty poon-tang!” he emphasized.

Sergeant Wagner also said that female infantry would be disruptive to unit cohesion.

“Suppose I happen to be out in town, and I see a male and a female Marine from my fireteam kissing,” he says. “Now any time we’re in combat I’ll have to wonder if he’s thinking of cradling me in his arms as I tell him that I love him with my last dying breath, or her skank ass.”

Satire. Satire. Satire. Satire.

I think I could puke.

What makes it so funny is that it sounds exactly like the usual suspects “reasoning” on such subjects.

Good stuff!

Ex-PH2

Maybe I could meet him sometime in a dark alley?

Hondo

Dunno about this one, folks. Considering what happened to Rep. Chu’s nephew, this might be a bit “over the top” – even for the Duffle Blog.

Just my opinion; YMMV.

NHSparky

I’d agree, but I’ve seen some members of the Califunny Congressional Delegation say some pretty fucked up shit.

Great satire is about 80 percent truth. And why LCPL Chu committed suicide is still open to debate. There are those who claim he was hazed until he ate his 240, but frankly, the fact he was even breathing after falling asleep FOUR TIMES IN 10 DAYS on guard duty speaks volumes as well.

Hondo

Not defending the dead kid, NHSparky – IMO he deserved a courts-martial for repeatedly endangering his unit.

But I still found the article tasteless and, frankly, not very funny given what happened to the kid. Given the circumstances I thought the article was rather a low blow.

the Semper Pink story had me laughing so hard I almost pissed myself.

James Williams

Lol, that’s fucking hilarious.

StrikeFO

TDB didn’t mention or even hint at the nephew of Judy Chu. I’m finding it a little hard to understand how that even comes out in the discussion here. The way I see it, Hondo, basically — no one can ever make fun of Judy Chu because her nephew committed suicide.

That makes a lot of sense.

Just Plain Jason

How about John “I was in vietnam you know” Kerry? We can always make fun of him?

Hondo

StrikeFO: poking fun at anyone with a relative who committed suicide in a combat zone in this manner seems tasteless enough to rate as out of line to me.

Chu’s nephew offed himself in Afghanistan. Yeah, the kid had issues. Yeah, the kid was apparently a not-so-good Marine. But he still offed himself. The article has Chu calling for “more casualties”. I find that tasteless as hell. I wouldn’t care if she hadn’t lost a relative recently in a combat zone – but she did.

We take issue with the idiots at Westboro Baptist Church for using soldiers’ funerals to get publicity for their cause. Intentional or not, this one seems to me to be doing a bit of the same.

YMMV, and apparently does. To each his own.

StrikeFO

Again: Chu’s nephew not mentioned. Not even hinted. Hell.. it could’ve been Rep. Joe Shmo. It’s not even in the article.

And more casualties — female casualties.

I can’t believe I’m defending a completely made up story here. My head hurts.

Hondo

StrikeFO: The article’s author either (1) didn’t remember that Chu had had a nephew who committed suicide in uniform in Afghanistan, or (2) knew but didn’t care and wrote the article anyway. But it doesn’t matter which. In either case, a satirical article in which she’s calling for “more casualties” – of whatever gender – is IMO in very bad taste. I’d feel the same if the target were anyone who recently lost a family member in uniform.

In my book, this article is little different than walking up to someone and asking them, “I guess you still support the war?” The question’s perfectly acceptable under most circumstances. However, it’s tasteless and way out of line if posed to a recently bereaved uncle or aunt of a serviceman who didn’t come home. Circumstances matter.

Look, I don’t care much for Chu’s politics. And had the article been directed against any other feminist-leaning politician, or the head of the DACOWITS committee, I’d have no problem with it – provided they hadn’t recently lost a relative in uniform, of course. But I think anyone who’s lost a family member in theater fairly recently deserves a little common decency and consideration along these lines. In my book, Chu didn’t get that here. And she should have.

Again – YMMV.

jk

I’d just like to say that women have the nicest pussays that I’ve ever encountered. That shiet is the mighteiest bestest most best tasting, best smelling, sheit I have ever seen in my entire teenage grown lifetime.
