Katy Perry at Annapolis

| April 25, 2012

I’m starting to get a little warm for this girl. According to ABC News in a link sent to us by Tman, Katy Perry performed for midshipmen at Annapolis Friday, despite the fact that she had a fever, She called one cadet up on stage and smooched with him. Yeah, I think I’d risk a bout with Ebola to get an opportunity to suck her face, too;

As the audience whoops in delight, Perry tells Beasley, “If I told you I had a cold, if I told you I flew here with a 101.8 temperature, would you still be all right with that?” When he responds, “Oh yeah!” she tells him she wants to recreate an iconic World War II photo of a sailor kissing a girl. “You ready?” she asks. He dips her low and kisses her, while she lifts her knee in the air.

I’m sure Naomi Wolf will have something barely intelligible to say about that.

Hey Joe–Katy Perry is most definitely “doable.”

CRaissi

Someone warn her not to visit the barracks.

DixieLandMan

Katy Perry is spongeworthy.

Scubasteve

If ever someone had an excuse for sickcall in the morning, this is definitely it. Totally worth it.

Just a cold? I’d let her give me herpes if she had it.

CI

In times like these…blocking YT at work is Bulls**t.

She is indeed spongeworthy.

DirtyMick

Make sure she never stumbles into the grunt barracks

I’m just liking this girl more and more and might even start listening to some of her music…well maybe, I’m an old bastard stuck in the sixties and seventies music…Disco excluded!

Old Tanker

Her stock keeps going up….

JustPlainjasin

I still have the image of you silverbacks stuck in traffic singing along to one of her songs.

After checking out the ABC story, I’m surprised no one is going ape about her band and stolen valor.

@ Doc … I saw that too … Bronze Star et al. I will give a pass for artistic expression as they were doing a MWR private concert (not paid much at all … I am certain of that) for future Navy and Marine Corps leaders and staff at the US Naval Academy. How cool is that? Pretty friggin’ cool. Cee Lo was a different story, he wore medals as a fashion statement. Plus, she seems to be warming up to our military. And in my book, that is all good. Oh and she is hot!

HM2 FMF-SW Ret

McPo: I agree to an extent with what you say (certainly the hot part 🙂 But, it we start saying military uniforms and medals can be worn by certain people in certain situations doesn’t that muddy the water and confuse the point? If the position is don’t wear medals unless you earn them shouldn’t that be it?

OWB

Are any of them claiming to have earned them?

MCPO NYC USN (Ret.)

@ Doc … YES and YES … But she is hot. You are right. How do you separate the POS from artistic expression? @ 13 that is only one the defining lines in determining the POS. Again, MWR concert … getting dressed up in a respectfull way … this one does not bother me at all.

HM2 FMF-SW Ret

OWB: It does not matter if they claimed it or not. Celo didn’t claim to be a vet either. If the position is that any use of military honors or uniforms by non vets/military personnel is wrong, then it should apply to performers at MWR shows. (Actors engaged in a theatrical performance excepted.)

MCPO: My standards are different than most here. I don’t have a problem with this or most of the others I have seen. It seems to me though that the stolen valor advocates need to draw a hard line otherwise you end up with standards being based on who you like vs who you don’t.

Spongeworthy? C’mon guys, own up to it… the girl is pretty freaking cool! I just WISH I had her charisma.
