Maryland terrorist gets 25 years for recruiting station plot

| April 6, 2012

Muslim convert Antonio Martinez, who also goes by the name Muhammad Hussein, was sentenced to 25 years in the federal sexual playground for plotting to blow up a military recruiting center near Baltimore late last year according to the Associated Press;

Assistant U.S. Attorney Christine Manuelian told U.S. District Judge J. Frederick Motz that Antonio Martinez maintains the mindset that led him to place what he believed was a bomb in front of the recruiting center. However, Martinez said in a lengthy apology that he knew little of Islam when he was arrested and “all I had was a religious zeal.” Martinez repeatedly said that he has “renounced the misguidance of terrorism” and that the religion is not one “anyone in this courtroom should be afraid of.”

Yeah, he was operating on pure “religious zeal”, but we don’t need to be afraid of the religion that instilled that zeal in him. Makes perfect sense. When he was known as Antonio, he didn’t plot against recruiters, but now that he’s Muhammed, he does.

Martinez pleaded guilty in January. Prosecutors say he armed a fake bomb in a vehicle he parked in front of a Catonsville recruiting center in December 2010 before moving to a vantage point and using what he thought was a detonator when an undercover agent told him soldiers were in the building.

So, I guess he pushed the big red button on the detonator and proved his intent to carry out the plot. 25 years probably isn’t enough to wash that crap out of his head. In an AOL News article from last year, he certainly wasn’t an angel before this arrest;

In 2006, Martinez was charged with armed robbery in Montgomery County, Md., when he was 16, according to court records obtained by the Sun. And in 2008, he was convicted of theft and was sentenced to 90 days in jail.

Someone might want to check into whether he got that crap in his head from his previous incarcerations. Of course, InfoWars folks claim he was “set up”, but not unless they pushed his finger down on the detonator. He did that himself. And if this administration goes along with the Martinez verdict, they have to agree that Bush’s policy of pre-emptive war is justifiable, too.

Couldn’t happen to a “nicer” asshole.

Hopefully they’ll send this guy to Marion or Leavenworth and put him in with the general prison population.

Perhaps, a Hell’s Angel as a bunkie? Or a Mongol?

@3 – No…an Infidel!

Why does MartinezMuhammed get a trial and sentence in one year, and his kindred spirits don’t?

Cato

He’s already respected in the islamic community of thugs and terrorists.

He’ll be an Imam by the time he is released from prison (if obama doesn’t pardon him)

At great risk, I’m gonna say somewhere that’d be much more accommodating such as…Vacaville, Pelican Bay? Maybe even Boron Federal guesthouse. You know, someplace that’s sunny and warm more conducive to his liking. Unless of course, the Great State of Texas wants to play guest host….

streetsweeper: I suggested Marion or Leavenworth (the Federal pen, not the USDB) as I’ve been told they are near the top in the Federal prison system for “hard” cases. Given his background, I just thought the guy might “enjoy” his time incarcerated more if surrounded by true hardcore criminals – and that they’d “enjoy” his company too.
