Veterans for Ron Paul to march on White House

| January 22, 2012

Looking for what I expected to be an irrational response to the results of the South Carolina primary in which Ron Paul came in fourth in field of four, I stumbled over this news at the Daily Paul;

On President’s Day, February 20th, 2012, the founders of Veterans for Ron Paul 2012, Nathan Cox and Adam Kokesh, will lead a formation of veterans and active duty troops who support Ron Paul’s candidacy for President of the United States from the Washington Monument to the White House. Upon arrival at the White House, they will do an about face and render a hand salute to a folded American flag surrounded by family members of military personnel and veterans. They will hold the salute for as many seconds as troops have died under the Presidency of Barrack Obama.

The purpose of this event is to make it clear to the American people that Ron Paul is the choice of the troops and the candidate who will have the greatest support from those he would lead as commander-in-chief. This is already evidence by the fact that Ron Paul has recieved [sic] more campaign contributions from active duty service members than all other presidential candidates combined, INCLUDING Barrack Obama.

Yeah, I’m sure that anyone who would associate themselves with a group founded by Adam Kokesh is rational and interested in our national security. I guess the excitement of smuggling raw milk and dancing in the Jefferson Memorial has lost it’s luster for Kokesh.

ROS sent us a link the other day to Open Secrets’ report on Ron Paul’s contributions and it appears that not only are active duty members contributing more to the Paul campaign than any other, they’re also his largest contributors;

But that’s out of a total of $8 million that Paul has raised which, in turn is less than 20% of what Barack Obama has raised. So it’s no wonder that the paulians want to convince the members of the military that they should send him money.

Even if there is a large turnout at this White House rally, don’t be fooled by the numbers. As with everything else, the Paulians intend to pad their numbers. This comment from the rally’s Facebook page;

He sounds like a candidate for the Jesse MacBeth Chair at IVAW. He knew someone who is a veteran, so he plans to speak for them. Grow a pair and enlist, then speak for veterans, numbnuts.

From The State Column;

Mr. Paul’s popularity among members of the military is evidenced by the number of active members of the military who donate to his campaign. Mr. Paul led his fellow GOP candidates and President Barack Obama in donations from active members of the military in the the 3Q 2011. In fact, Mr. Paul raised more money from active members of the military than all of his fellow GOP competitors combined.

Actually, it doesn’t mean that at all, it means that more Paulians are willing to identify themselves as members of the military on their donation forms and that taken in the reverse, the number of donors to the number of people on active duty, Ron Paul’s support in the military is statistically insignificant.

I might actually travel to this rally at the White House next month and get a feel for the number of real veterans who actually attend. Anyone else up for a road trip?

And, oh, yeah, if I need to remind you, Ron Paul endorsed Adam Kokesh during Kokesh’s run at the New Mexico 3rd Congressional District seat two years ago.

“Adam Kokesh has dedicated his life to fighting for Liberty. He has set himself apart as one of the bold young leaders our Country sorely needs as we strive to restore our Freedoms and what has made America the greatest nation in history. I am very happy that Adam has decided to run for Congress and wholeheartedly endorse him.”

I really hope you do. Of the hundreds of veterans I both know and am involved with in my volunteer life, I know of only 2 who are Paulistinians, and only one of the two says he donated. I’m extremely curious about how these numbers are reached and how they are identified.

UpNorth

“Ron Paul’s support in of the military is statistically insignificant”. Fixed one minor point, Jonn.

Zero Ponsdorf

Too far for a day trip for me, but I’d love to be there.

I hope you can make it.

melony

you really need the video to go with this..LOL…

melony

not the video I was looking for but yeah…

AF REMFER Not quite a fatass

Have a couple of friends (neither still on active duty) that are enamored of clown Luap Nor. Depressing as hell as both are great people with a decent amount of brainpower. I’m not sure what’s more depressing, that or that someone I admired in HS now quotes commie Daniel Ortega approvingly. I suppose it just goes to show that all it takes are a few central misconceptions of reality to really screw up the people you support.

valerie

Uhh, these numbers don’t reflect massive support. Sorry.

I’ve noticed on base here there’s a slim chance of hearing any conversation about Ron Paul where i’m stationed. And when you do happen to hear a conversation about Ron Paul, his name is used in conjunction with words such as “retard”, “insane”, “crazy”, kook”, and “mentally unstable”, and every once in awhile “straight jacket” and “rubber room” are thrown in the mix. Trust me when I say the active duty military doesn’t support him as much as his campaign is making it look like.

“The purpose of this event is to make it clear to the American people that Ron Paul is the choice of the troops and the candidate who will have the greatest support from those he would lead as commander-in-chief.” Um kind of selective sampling of the “troops” there Paulites don’t you think? Hint, any event that you have to narrate the minutia is not clear dumbass!

“This is already evidence by the fact that Ron Paul has recieved [sic] more campaign contributions from active duty service members than all other presidential candidates combined, INCLUDING Barrack Obama.” This disproven tripe again? I mean if your going to lie, try to make it at least ambigious, so its hard to disprove.

Its a cult, nothing can ever be challenged.

cato

There will be many real fakes, “wanna be veterans” with a few real veterans scatted around for the media to talk to.

It will be highly organized, edited and managed for the MSM nightly news segment.

I know the ending to this story.
I’ve seen it many times.
MSM and the paultards will make a purse out of a Sow’s Ear right before our eyes.

S.G.

For over a Year I’ve been pointing out to the Paul Borg that you can claim any Occupation when donating as no one from the campaign or Feds ever verifies it. You can claim to be an Astronaut Porn Star and suddenly teh borg will claim NASA supports Ron Paul(PBUH).

I had one who was OK with closing Landstuhl even though the wounded might die on long flights back to the US, because he said it was unconstitutional to have overseas bases. How do you fight such idiocy from a supposed Vet?

bah bodenkurk

Are you all more concerned with Ron Paul winning than Barrack Obama getting reelected?

streetsweeper

@ #12- Actually the concern is, either one of the two being in office as you well know. Otherwise, you’d be hanging out on the Ron Paul Liberty forums instead of over here taking up valuable 1’s & 0’s space…. in case you don’t understand hexadecimal….

streetsweeper

The percentage points of “military donations” worked to be less than 4.4% of Paul’s total donations if memory serves me correctly.

Ci

@12 – The level of interest does seem disproportionate with his chance of being elected to the Presidency…..

Susan

Actually Bah, I think I would vote for Obama over Paul. Paul’s foreign policy ideas are that insane.

bah bodenkurk

I’m not here to try and convince anyone to for Ron paul , but another four years of obama might make me move to Jamaica.

Bha Bodenkurk

@17 – His foreign policy ideas weren’t being called insane when they were espoused by George W. Bush in the late 90’s. In fact, Bush was revered for his stance on nation-building. Then again, GWB did the exact opposite of what he said after he was elected.

@16 – I think Ron Paul and Obama are the least similar. Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich are more Obama-ish than anyone, unfortunately.

His foreign policy ideas weren’t being called insane when they were espoused by George W. Bush in the late 90?s. In fact, Bush was revered for his stance on nation-building. Then again, GWB did the exact opposite of what he said after he was elected.

I don’t recall Governor George W. Bush espousing that the Jews controlled our foreign policy and we should leave them to their own devices in the late 90s. I don’t recall Governor George W. Bush espousing that America is at fault for any and all problems around the world.

And when global reality hits you in the face in the form of Islamic terrorists flying American passenger airliners into buildings on American soil, it’s a wakeup call that one might need to change their idealistic outlook on global matters, including ‘nation building’.

“The purpose of this event is to make it clear to the American people that Ron Paul is the choice of the troops and the candidate who will have the greatest support from those he would lead as commander-in-chief.”

In other words: the purpose of this event is to undermine the trust and confidence the American people have in the uniformed military’s willingness to obey lawful orders of Commander-in-Chief, if the people’s choice of Commander-in-Chief is displeasing to certain members of the uniformed military.

Mike "may tag"

I worked in New Mexico to see that kokesh didn’t get elected. Check out face book page American patriots against Adam Kokesh
check out my page and this page– I have info posted about it and the U-tube of him explaining he was a Russian agent together on the same page

Bah Bodenkurk

@20 – This video is the shortest video I could find that shows GWB esousing the non-nation building foreign policy. If you want, look up more of his campaign videos or debate videos where he repeatedly decries nation building and sending humanitarian aid and sending troops all over the world.

Yat Yas 1833

Well, St least they don’t have US Marine Corps on that list!?:o

jonp

wonder if pos kokesh is going to dress in shabby bdu’s and burn an upside-down flag again on the steps of the WH?

jonp

@17: if forced to chose between Paul or Obama I would finish and stock my backyard bunker

jonp

so all of the money raised from active duty shows massive support…unless my math is wrong then this “massive” support equals about .8% of the total raised. Not much massive about this but then again its larger than the percentage of the population that supports IVAW and Vote Vets

DixieLandMan

Going to salute for 1 second for every soldier that has died? They going to salute for over an hour?

ROS

If the Paulistinians truly WOULD move to Jamaica, I’d seriously consider voting for O. I’d have to shoot myself after, but it would be oh so worth it.

democracygone

I am a brit so I know something about my history of british imperialism/nation building and that was done by us brits when we were very wealthy (because of the wealth we stole from the countries we invaded, it backfired on us eventually.May I assure any doubters that the current US imperialist foreign policy is deja vu of my history BUT with the added facet that the US economy is in deep trouble and your national debt will not be resolved by the continual wars that your imperialistic power brokers pursue under labels as missions of war on terror/removal of dictators/nation building, mainly in countries that have natural resources for plunder. The US will only regain its once respected position as the foremost upholder of freedom and liberty by supporting Ron Paul and his policies. ‘Respect is earned and not gained by fear/threat or force’

NHSparky

jonp–right on, brother. Obama or Paul? How about canned food and shotguns?

Personally, I’d be interested to see how many people Paul could get to follow him to Guyana. Just sayin.

UpNorth

Um, democracygone? I’ll repeat what I said on another blog, If Ronpaul is the answer, it has to be a stupid question. And, I really think the public school failed you, you need to go look up the definition of imperialism. Plunder natural resources? Yeah, we’ve wiped out the natural resources of Haiti, Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan, not to mention a bunch of SW Asian countries. Moron!!
Oh, and Bah, GWB isn’t running this time around, something you and the Owebowmaites should learn.

WWlllisuponus

The veterans and active duty soldiers that are going to be attending this March have to prove they are in fact active or a veteran. People not in the military cannot participate in the March, but can attend to support. If you don’t vote Ron Paul you are voting for WWlll. China and Russia both said they will attack us if we go to Iran. Every single candidate including Obama wants to go to Iran. Ron Paul is the only one saying no. Israel does not want or need our help. Israel is more than capable of taking care of Iran by themselves. You people really need to do research before you start posting things that are not true.

Arch hypocrisy from Nimmo on this occasion no less, for climbing aboard the Ron Schmaul bandwagon, I calls him the Duke of Buckingham of 911 truth, because like the Duke, who in 1483 turned against his former mentor King Richard III, who lopped his head in response, he changed sides! This is how he described Ron Schmaul in 2006 – “Ron Paul reaffirmed the fantasy, that al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden attacked the US, when there is no evidence to validate this fairy tale!” Kurt Nimmo @ ADE Fantasy, fairy tales and now a “myth,” does he know of any hard evidence, or factual news at all .. the real truth is that RP is a product of the Ziomossad infiltration process, whence traitors and scoundrels are made Presidents, Senators and Congressmen! Who in return take out loans at outrageous interest rates, or start wars and participate in genocide, killing and enslavement all on Zionist terms .. forever indemnifying their country’s resources! Obama is allegedly mixed up in the murder of two of his butt buddies in Chicago in 2007 .. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, is allegedly culpable in an extraordinary amount of killing, including the hands on murder of her former lover Vince Foster, in the White House in 1992. 911 was an inside job .. the evidence file, that includes guided missile strikes at the Pentagon and at the WTC, has been entirely neglected by Nimmo in the first instance, and by RP and his similarly treasonous son, US Senator Rand Paul ever since! That the remainder of the US social and political hierarchy, ignores the same evidence, with all mainstream news casters, while hellish war takes place globally, and paid thugs and disrupters are bussed into OWS, thence and Egyptian and Greek demonstrations, from lunatic asylums! Makes no difference to real Americans and true patriots – they have seen their children slaughtered for the abortion industry, and the sports supplement industry, that uses fetal cells in patent medicines! They have seen immigrants flood into the country, then take their unionized jobs as scabs, who are… Read more »
