SPLC hates everyone
TSO sent us this link yesterday to Immigration Reform.com in which they compare Southern Poverty Law Center’s rhetoric to reality. In this first chart, is SPLC’s portrayal of the alarmingly sharp rise in the number of “hate groups”;
Of course, the whole thing can be explained when we realize that SPLC has expanded it’s definition of hate groups rather than an actual growth of hate groups. Any group that opposes illegal immigration is a right wing hate group, no matter how innocuous their opposition. SPLC has also included the Black Panthers in their right wing hate group list- each local branch is a separate hate group. Of course, you won’t hear SPLC announce that hate crimes are on the decline…that would affect their fund raising activities, so they engage in fear-mongering. That’s why this banner decorates their front page today;
I guess everyone who opposes Islamic terrorism is a hate group, too.

We had a class on extremism at work on Thursday and walking out of it you would think that the majority of the hate groups that exist were White/survivalist/skin head. Fort Hood was only brought up by people in the class. The videos that were used were from over five years ago citing a “ever increasing demand for troops in Iraq”
It was very lop sided in how it was presented and I think many people there voiced that.
The FBI’s Gang Task Force has given the best briefing I have ever sat through – covered the gamut of both street gangs and ideological groups.
@John – “I guess everyone who opposes Islamic terrorism is a hate group, too.”
I don’t think the nomenclature of ‘hate group’ is useful for any entity, but those who oppose the exercise of religious liberty by American citizens would certainly be included.
I oppose Islam in these United States because Islam is incompatible with democracy.
Islam itself is the single largest hate group in these United States.
The freedom to practice one’s religion as outlined in our Constitution does not extend to those religions whose practice violates our laws. When any religion becomes incompatible with democracy, with our laws, with our Bill of Rights, then it must be repressed.
Our Constitution is not a suicide pact.
Of course, the Bible is also counter and incompatible to our Constitution in many aspects.
I don’t care in particular about any religion…..I care what people do with it.
A barber was recently shut down because he was preforming animal sacrifice – according to his religion – in the basement of the barber shop. He squawked about his religious freedoms; he was closed down for health code violations. The difference was explained to him by the health inspectors.
When religions get here, they get Americanized. I would imagine we’ll see the same thing happen with Islam.
I need two more people to join my newly formed Haters of Hate Groups group. The only requirement is that you sign a form attesting to your hatred of hate groups. Wait! As a hater of hate groups, we necessarily must hate ourselves. Hmmm. Membership apps are closed until further notice.
“When religions get here, they get Americanized.” Pa-leese.
As shown in the graphs, more hate groups equal fewer hate crimes. The inescapable conclusion: We need more hate groups!
I hate everyone equally, it saves so much time.
Interesting factoid from a class on gangs:
The KKK and the New Black Panthers cooperate on recruiting. Local NBP running low on members and dues – they call up the KKK to beat up some African-American teenagers publicly. Member goes up, dues are paid. And vice versa.
Racism, the self-licking ice cream cone.
It’s just one big ass circle jerk is what you are saying, DaveO? 2-17AirCav? Open up membership to your group! Be an equal hater, geez! LOL!
An excellent analysis.
It’s also instructive to compare the SPLC’s “Hate Group” statistics with it’s annual income:
http://wp.me/pCLYZ-8i
Oddly enough, the two graphs are virtually identical. Last year the SPLC took in $31 million in donations and earned another $26 million in tax-free interest on their bloated $216 million dollar Endowment Fund… and still the number of “hate groups” continues to climb.
With tens of millions of tax-free donor-dollars at stake, the numbers never go down.
There’s no profit in that, and since the SPLC is the sole arbiter of the meaningless “hate group” smear, (there is no legal definition for “hate group,” which is why even the FBI does not, cannot, track “hate groups), the white millionaires who run the SPLC simply make up whatever numbers they please.
It’s not like anyone in the mainstream media is actually going to look at the “facts.”
Some “experts:
SPLC is absolutely correct. I hate Muslim Terrorists with a passion.
@#6: I believe that makes you a liberal dosn’t it?
I guess Mr. Pockface, Mark Potok, won’t admit that the “hate crimes” against Muslims are, percentage wise, only in the single digits, compared to how Jews received 71 percent of “hate crimes” based on religion.

Facts are stubborn things, $PLC.
“I guess everyone who opposes Islamic terrorism is a hate group, too.”
Soooo, I guess that makes the total number of hate “groups” into the millions. . . .
