CNN to Cain: Do you stand a chance with white people?

| August 15, 2011

ROS sent us a link to Newsbusters‘ Matt hadro who reports that CNN reporter asked a racist question of Hermann Cain about the iowa Straw Poll the other day;

DON LEMON: Speaking over on the soapbox, and really giving some interesting – and straightforward talk. And we had a – let’s say a passionate conversation afterwards. And the reason we did is because you said you were an against-all-odds person, and quite honestly I said to you do you think in a party – in a mostly-white party in a mostly-white state, did you really stand a chance, not only of a nomination, of becoming President?

I wonder if Lemon would ask the same question of Barack Obama – given that every Democrat face I’ve seen on television recently has been white, and Obama ran in Iowa three years ago. Can Lemon remember back that far?

The liberals seem most worried about race…I haven’t heard any Republicans question Cain’s suitability as a candidate based on his race, but the Left seems obsessed with it.

Silly Jonn, don’t you know only white conservative males are racists?

Doc Bailey

I’d love to see what is said if he runs against Obama. Who to you pull the race card on? the one who is whiter, or the one who is a house n***r as some in the “hip-hop” community have called him.

I’m so sick of this faux racism issue.

BeatandRelease

Tell the moron to ask Tim Scott from South Carolina.

OldSoldier54

I despise the “race” issue also but, Uncle J at Blackfive has called it correctly, IMO. Too many black Americans are overly concerned with skin color; ie, don’t want Obama to go down as the worst POTUS in possibly the last hundred years, if not our entire history, so they would vote for him KNOWING what a loser he is because they have no choice in their eyes. Cain changes that and the Left knows it.

He completely neutralizes the Race card, plus he’s got lots of real world experience while not being another DC insider.

The question isn’t for Cain. It’s a dog-whistle for African-Americans, and those whites who feel guilty over America’s racism, real and imagined.

The message: Cain is Uncle Tom, and a tool for whites, who have racism in their DNA, to draw black voters away from Obama. Cain, if his numbers improve to at least Veep level, will get Palinated by the Dems.

PintoNag

Spot-on, DaveO.

I remember herman Cain added to Obama’s moat with alligators comment saying “yeah and throw in an electric fence” when asked if he was serious, he said “people in this country need to learn to take a joke.” that’s kinda spot on for what’s wrong with politics in general. You can’t be humorous, or God forbid make an off hand remark.

Zero Ponsdorf

Of course you folks are missing part of the humor too!

Just imagine the fancy dancing on the left if we have a female AND a black Republican on the slate next year?

Remember Obama is, in fact, half white. And at this point I don’t much care who’ll be at the top of the (R) ticket so long as it ain’t a RINO like we had last time, or Paul.

Aside: I do like Cain, but like both female contenders he is not part of the Beltway Republican machine.

Mr Cain is one “person of color” who has strayed off the Democratic plantation, and doesn’t need the Libturd entitlements to survive. Hence, the Progressive’s panic, digs, jabs, and put-downs.
Because if Mr Cain can leave, and survive on his own without the Democrap’s help, then maybe others will leave as well. Less beholding voters to keep them in office. Oh, the horrors!!
