The new Hawk party

| March 23, 2011

Of course, I remember when the Democrats were the Hawks in Congress back in the mid-60s trying to overcome the Republican charge that they’d “lost China” to the communists in 1948. That’s why Johnson was eager to jump into Vietnam with both feet using the Gulf of Tonkin incident as an excuse. But according to NewsBusters, even Howard Dean has jumped on the “Rush-to-War-In-Libya Bus”;

DEAN: I don’t think you stay out of these things. You can’t if you’re the most powerful country in the world . . . You have to take chances.

KLEIN: That’s not what you were saying in 2003!

DEAN: That’s because we were lied to about what we were doing . . . we were lied to about the WMD.

KLEIN: We had the same situation as we do now, which is insufficent information.

I wonder if Dean will tell us he was “lied to” when our involvement in Libya goes beyond what the President called “a few days”. It’s already been “a few days” and we’ve already lost an aircraft (to malfunction…ya know, like in Desert One).

That pesky dust up in Libya has caused the President to cancel the rest of his South of the Border vacation.

Probably because he remembered that Joe Biden said during the campaign that he’d lead the impeachment proceedings if Obama went to war without Congressional approval. Ya never know…that might be the one thing Bite Me promised that he’d actually attempt. He’s been trying to be President for decades…this is his best shot since no one is stupid enough to elect him.

Howard Dean is amoral. His goal is power, and the means are defined as “anything that works.”

And tens of thousands of Americans will believe him instead of trusting their own eyes and mind because they desparately want to different, special compared the ordinary, average joe.

I can appreciate what you are saying, but you once again make the common mistake that any liberal, particularly the foaming at the mouth leftist liberal, thinks like we do, or even thinks at all rationally. They have their own version of reality and it does not coincide with ours. Thus the facts of any given situation that don’t dovetail neatly with their fevered concept of reality are simply discarded, and cannot get past their filters into the cesspools of their brains.

USMC Steve,

I don’t disagree that I made the mistake. I use it as a point of departure to understand the morality and mindset of the enemy. BLUF: The left uses power to exact a Darwinian Survival of the Fittest – by eliminating rivals through authoritative coercion to undermine all venues of competition. Best example of this concept is Joe Kennedy.

Dr. Dean’s reality is shaped from being the unfavored son who was required to take up the mantle of politics when the favored son died. That familial dynamic engenders a lot of hate for anyone approximating the beliefs of his very conservative father. That rejection of a father’s morality leads one to replace it with another moral code, or none at all. Dean demonstrates none at all through his inconsistency of word and deed toward similar situations.

Put another way: if Dr. Dean practiced medicine the way he practices politics, he’d’ve been arrested as either a serial killer after his first week as an intern, or as a serial incompetent.

“If Dr. Dean practiced medicine the way he practices politics, he’d’ve been arrested as either a serial killer after his first week as an intern, or as a serial incompetent.” Know what you’re saying, Dave. Personally, I doubt that Howard YEaarrrgh Dean has the stones to be a serial killer. Maybe a cereal killer. But, serial incompetent surely does fit him, to a T.
And, for “Dr.” Dean, you may have been “lied to”, but your own people (dems) did it. Algore was so convinced of the truth of what was said, he tried to ride that info, in part, into the White House. Billy Jeff and the rest of your side all believed it. So, kindly get beyond “Bush’s Fault”, mmm-kay?
