An early spring?

Our Palmetto Bugs did NOT see their shadow’s……spring is coming!
Spring? What is this “spring” of which you speak?
Sincerely,
7 fucking inches yesterday and another 14-18 fucking inches today.
I don’t miss Palmetto Bugs, 1AirCav69. I know they’re harmless, but they’re ugly enough to make you hurt yourself if they get on you.
NHSparky, we feel your pain. We caught the edge of that storm and it was -6 degrees yesterday morning, and it was -3 degrees this morning. We only got a few inches of snow, though.
Snow? We don’ need no more steenkin snow. Not a lot in actual accumulation, but drifts the size of small ponies in the driveway. And, the wind is still blowing.
But, the local media has turned this into the “storm of the century”, with all the attendant coverage. They keep harping on everyone to stay off the roads, but keep showing their “news” crews driving from Grand Rapids to Holland, Kalamazoo, Portage, Muskegon. Which part of their own advice can’t they follow?
And I’ve noticed that there are still enough idiots out here driving (I had to go to work this morning) that still haven’t figured out that if there’s a foot of ice and snow on the highway that hasn’t been plowed, salted, or sanded yet, it’s probably a good idea NOT to ride 4 inches off the ass of the guy in front of you.
Sparks, that trait only changes with natural selection, when the asshats who drive that way have to suddenly change course and end up under a semi-trailer, or in a river, or wrapped around a utility pole. Unfortunately, I think they’re a self-propagating sub-species of human, take one out and there’s two to take it’s place.
Let’s be honest here. With all those cameras, lights, and camera flashes; Phil couldn’t see shit, let alone his shadow.
North: Like this guy?

Speed might have been a factor? Ya think?
NHSparky #8: Speed, ice and bridge NEVER mix. I wouldn’t wish that death on anyone.
And a Toyota Camery is not the car to take swimming. You want to take your car swimming, make it an FJ Cruiser!
As did Our local groundhog, General Beau Lee:
On this Groundhog Day, people gathered in Gwinnett County to see if General Beauregard Lee would predict a quick end to winter in the South.

(i’ll believe it when I see it ~ just sayin
I’d like to point out that Phil lives in an air conditioned house and eats dog food. I trust his instincts on predicting Spring about as much as I’d trust Rosie O’Donnell’s taste in women.
Claymore, I’m not really sure what convoluted neural pathways you used to go from groundhog to Swamp Thing…but it certainly made for an interesting analogy. Thank you.
This is begining to become an annual event at Sousleyacre. Last year we were snowed in for three days this year it has been two so far. Where the hell is all this global warming? I guess Al Gore will say this is just further evidence of global warming, because its getting cooler you know…
“The Earth has a fever”….never mind that Earths core is molten lava. rofl!
Sparks, as PN said, speed, ice and bridges never mix. Nor does the idea in some people’s heads that if the speed limit sign says 70mph, by God and by golly, I’m going 70mph, cuz that’s what the gubermint says I can do.
It takes considerable speed to launch an auto off of a paved surface, over whatever guard system is in place, and into a river/stream/creek. There once was a young lass who launched her Yugo off of the Mackinaw Bridge, in a high wind. Once again, natural selection at work. If you have wind blowing up through the grating in the inner lanes at 40-50mph, why drive a 1700lb car out into the inner lanes? When the bridge authority is keeping Semi’s off the bridge?
#15 UpNorth: natural selection came into play upon choosing a Yugo, instead of a nice, safe Ford F350.
Fire, good. So is working from home. Thank you Go-to-my-PC 🙂
You could stop bragging, DaveO….rofl!
I suppose it would not be politically correct to ask why nobody has shot that critter yet?
Most women only DREAM of being spoiled the way “that critter” is, Laurie! 🙂
In honor of Groundhog day I say we should burn a tire to bring about the early spring….
