Prysner: I resolve to be a better commie this year
I took the day off yesterday, but my ninjas didn’t. They caught Mike Prysner resolving to be a better communist in the New year;
If you don’t remember Prysner, he’s the co-founder of March Forward, the veteran wing of ANSWER who is ashamed of his service inside the wire in Iraq, yet wears his uniform more than most people on active duty. He tried to stage a coup in IVAW when he and some of his fellow travelers ran for positions on the IVAW’s board last year, mainly because his own membership drives in March Forward have ended up very anemic so he thought he could take over IVAW and turn them towards a more radical agenda.
The Long March was Mao’s retreat in order to avoid combat with federal Chinese forces in 1934-35. I really don’t see much that Mao did that would inspire me, since he murdered millions of Chinese during his Great Leap Forward. But then, I’m not Mike Prysner.

The romantic visions that most people, who have never lived under communist rule, have for communism is laughable and shows a stunted intellect in the area of history, or it’s just downright ignorance of history and what communism has cost in the area of lives and suffering around the world.
I was in a debate with a couple of my in-laws after “motorcycle diaries” came out, because they were blubbering on about how cool Che was, etc. I said “yeah, a fricken killer of innocents is way cool; why don’t they do a romantic movie about Pol Pot’s early years next”? That started the argument.
Another note: My mom knew Gerhard Shroder and Joschka Fischer (former Chancellor and Foreign Minister of Germany) personally, from when she was a young lady back in Germany and she said for a matter of fact that they were both commies and involved with a satellite of the Baader-Meinhof gang (notorious commie student terrorists). She didn’t say too much bad about Shroder, but she hated Fischer. I asked her why she hated Fischer so much, but she wouldn’t elaborate other than to say he treated women badly.
Communism. Way to pick a winning team there dude. I guess you and your friends will do it right this time. Idiot.
isn’t it funny how its glossed over that Communism had killed more people than Fascism? Mao, and his “Great Leap Forward” managed to starve out millions of people and he just shrugged as if it were no big deal.
Hell Joey Stalin’s purges make the holocaust pale by comparison. funny that’s not widely known.
You are much closer than you realize, Doc Bailey. The saying is? “Communism has only killed 100 Million people. Let’s give it one more try”. 8)
Hey now do you go using facts against their ideals. I love seeing when enviornmentalists claim that communism is better for the enviornment. Hey look how devastating 3 Mile Island was to the enviornment, Chernobyl was so much less devistating…oh wait sorry I got that backwards.
Do these tools ever stop and smell the irony of expressing these inane viewpoints on a billion dollar enterprise like Facebook while using their home computers that they most likely bought at a Best Buy? I guess publishing their own Little Red Book would take too much effort what with typesetting and binding and all.
Most of the Cold War Warriors here will remember the prominent role of Voice of America in defeating communism. It was THE source of objective news to the Warsaw Pact and families behind the Iron Curtain literally risked their lives to huddle around hushed radios to listen.
Think it’s bad that Prysner is longing for what he never knew? A romantic dream of utopia that a lack of historical education allows him? Try this on for size: http://www.voanews.com/english/news/93683204.html
The freaking VOA has been running a promo piece on “The Long March” for months.
