That which you have wrought

| October 8, 2010

I was alerted by Mr. Wolf to the fact that this was just posted on the VFW website;

Proud of yourselves?

Of course, they say they’re going to bring the issue of the VFW-PAC up at the National Convention in August and it’s up to us to hold their feet to the fire and make sure that they’re not just throwing us a bone.

I may have to attend this convention. We should make a party of this.

I will be certain to get this out to my fellow Post & District members!! This might be a good thing for the VFW. After all, they are the ones that created this shit storm!!

And in the mean time…………? August is only 10 months away. Until then the PAC can do as it wishes? They admitted there are problems now, why aren’t they getting them fixed and corrected now?

After emailing every State VFW department and calling for Combat Veterans to take back and then defend (from calls to destroy it) the organization,

Yes, I’m proud that National took the first step and urge it to commit to fixing the issue before more damage is done, i.e. in days, not years.

Yeah, agree with ladyredneck. In the meantime, they are going to continue endorsing socialist riTARDs for the NOV 2010 election, granting those socialist riTARDs the opportunity to campaign saying “I have the support of the VFW-PAC”?

What the hell good has been done? Absolutely nothing. They should be handling this right-f-ing-now.

This isn’t ‘throwing you a bone’, this is a ‘yeah, yeah, we hear you, we’ll handle this next year in AUG when you’ve all forgotten about it, now stop f-ing bothering us, so we can concentrate on re-electing the socialist riTARDs’.

It’s time to go Alinsky on these MF-ers’ asses. Don’t let up. Keep bitching them out until they do something about this NOW.

Am I the only one who sees a problem with the VFW potentially eliminating the VFW-PAC, which has more freedom than the VFW itself?

It was pointed out that the VFW-PAC’s by-laws pretty much default to incumbent endorsements as long as certain “boxes” are checked. IMO, this is problematic, in itself. The VFW-PAC doesn’t give any benefit of the doubt to newcomers to the political arena, regardless of having a veteran’s status or not. What’s NOT to prevent an incumbent from voting in favor of certain veteran’s issues, even though that issue may never reach the House or the Senate?? This STILL gets that box checked. So, it’s safe to assume that a politician could vote in favor of an issue, knowing full well that it won’t ever get out of committee or ever be passed and STILL receive an endorsement from the VFW. It would be very easy to play that game, especially for the Politicians.Perhaps a better option is to dump the PAC and go to lobbying the politicians they need to help get a bill passed?? (Thanks, Nick)

Good point! The PAC should still be accountable to the members of the VFW. Just saying.

streetsweeper–the PAC WAS supposedly accountable to the VFW rank-and-file. However, I’ve seen them ignore the input from the local and state levels more than once.

Bottom line, the PAC got too big for its britches and needs to be taken down a notch or twenty.

Am a life member of the VFW. Will not be contributing anything to that organization until they start supporting conservatives and patriots for election. When they support people like Harry Reid, Barbara Boxer, Kendrick Meek, and Joe Sestak they have lost my support.
