The words you’re looking for are “by their Creator”
ROS sent us this video in which, our president tells us that Mexicans, along with a slew of others were here long before “America” was an idea.
Two points, Barry. One, there were no “Mexicans” per se until 1821 when the colony or viceroyalty known as New Spain became Mexico after a hard-fought war for independence. I mean if you’re going to use the term “America” to mean the United States, certainly you can’t use the term “Mexicans” to mean people who lived in a country that didn’t exist. They’re not a race, are they?
Two, Mexicans consider themselves Americans, too. That’s why they call us Norteamericanos instead of Americans. Language shouldn’t be used to confuse a point.
And oh, when you used the Declaration of Independence to try to shame us on immigration, the words you were looking for in the phrase that you said “they are endowed…with certain inalienable rights…” are “…by their Creator…” It should read “…all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
Learn it, love it.

In HS, we used to have this saying…”learn it, live it, love it.” *That’s* what Barry and his followers do.not.get.
I showed this clip to a couple of “enlightened” liberal acquaintances of mine. None of them recognized the missed phrase, and a couple of them said, “So? What’s so big about him reading the Constitution?” I also mentioned TOTUS, and one called me a racist for doing so.
These are the people whose votes I cancel.
I always get a kick out of hearing people say that Obama is a Muslim. Ha! Now that’s farfetched. Obama is as godless as any liberal. He’s part of the Godphobic academic establishment.
NHSparky: Sounds about right. “Endowed by our creator with certain inalienable rights” comes from the Decleration of Independence, not the Constitution. The Constitution doesn’t mention anything about God, except at the end when they call it the “Year of Our Lord”. But I can imagine that a liberal hearing that their revered president can’t form a sentence without the assistance of a telelprompter would be pretty upset. Whenever liberals get upset, the R-Word comes out. Yes, that’s right–RACIST!
There’s much more in that paragraph. I triple-dog dare Obama to include this next time: “That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.”
Having founding principles, does not make the nation an idea. This “proposition” concept is utter nonsense. If the nation is just an idea(think the Soviet Union) then everything underlining it is mallable. Therefore it can be transformed and altered. Which is exactly what the intent of progressivism is.
Our language, our goverment, laws, ideas, and our traditions come straight from England. Just look at the bill of rights, all are Anglo/Saxon traditions or are corrections to injustice commited by the crown(Some going back to the Stewarts).
Of course we know those words. We went to School in the United States, where we were born.
