Brian McGinnis, Green Party candidate for Senate from NC
The fella, who looks like a raging jackass, acted like a raging jackass. You see, while wearing his Marine blues to a Senate hearing, he interrupted to “protest” the Iran war. He yelled something about how the Jews run US foreign policy (I’m not joking), then got “escorted” out by Capitol Police. Like a petulant toddler, he resisted, and while they were trying to drag him out, Senator Sheehan (R-MT) came in to help. He allegedly broke the former Marine’s hand in the scuffle. I don’t know how anyone absent Clark Kent with his X-ray vision could diagnose a broken hand in the moment like that.
Who is this McGinnis guy? Well a quick Google search turned up that he’s standing as a Green Party candidate for US Senate in North Carolina. For someone who thinks American servicemen didn’t join to fight for Israel, it’s very unusual that he’s wearing two flags on his lapel for his official campaign picture. Neither flag is the American one. He’s wearing the Palestinian and Irish flags, which the Palestinian one being in the position of the more important one.
Here’s how a liberal media rag reports on the incident involving McGinnis and Sheehan. From LGBT Nation;
Sen. Tim Sheehy (R-MT) allegedly broke the hand of Brian McGinnis, a decorated Marine officer who protested the Iran war during a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on Wednesday. Sheehy was assisting Capitol Police officers attempting to eject McGinnis from the hearing.
A CBS News reporter recorded video of the incident and posted it to X. In the video, Capitol Police officers struggle with McGinnis as he resists being escorted out of the room. McGinnis then holds onto a doorknob as leverage as he yells about how soldiers don’t wish to die for Israel, a reference to Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s claim that the U.S. attacked Iran in premeditation of possible retaliation from a possible preemptive strike by Israel.
As McGinnis holds onto the knob, Sen. Sheehy intervenes and helps officers try and pull McGinnis from the door. “A U.S. senator just broke the hand of a Marine!” a man in the room yells after McGinnis seemingly endures an injury from the altercation.
Sheehy later wrote in a post on the social platform X, “Capitol Police were attempting to remove an unhinged protestor from the Armed Services hearing. He was fighting back. I decided to help out and deescalate the situation.”
“This gentleman came to the Capitol looking for a confrontation, and he got one,” Sheehy added. “I hope he gets the help he needs without causing further violence.”
A spokesperson for U.S. Capitol Police told The Hill that McGinnis and three Capitol Police officers sustained injuries during the incident. McGinnis, a Green Party candidate running for Senate in North Carolina, is now facing three criminal counts for allegedly assaulting a police officer and three more for resisting arrest.
“This afternoon, an unruly man who started to illegally protest during a hearing, put everyone in a dangerous position by violently resisting and fighting our officer’s attempts to remove him from the room,” the spokesperson said.

One thing I’ve learned over the last several years is that the US Capitol Police have some of the worst uniform and grooming standards.

I guess this also answers the question about SEALs vs Marines. Apparently all a SEAL has to do to disable a Marine and make them harmless is tug on their arm a little bit.

If they had wanted to break his hand, he was in the perfect position for them to do so. Have 2, 3 LEO shut the door forcefully on his hand until he decided to remove it himself.
LEOs physically picked him up horizontally while he’s screaming his BS, and the former SEAL is trying to pull the guy’s arm/hand out of the door.

He’s the retired Green Beret officer that claimed to be a “whistleblower” when he made up a bunch of stuff about the IDF and humanitarian contractors in Gaza last year. He was working as a security contractor. He came up with his lies about kids getting shot at aid stations after being fired for cause from the PMC he was working for.

“Decorated”? I guess technically correct, but not in the manner usually associated with the word: Highest award: A single Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. Likely an end of tour award. I got five of those in 21 years…3 EOTs and two for specific accomplishments. I also note that his Good Conduct has no “multiple award” devices, so either he served fewer than 6 years, or didn’t maintain good conduct for them.
