I’ll do ya one better…I bought a shampoo once that advertised as larger than their regular size. I compared it to the old bottle that was almost empty.
It was smaller. There was no other “regular” size bottle.
Back in the day, circa 1987, Hack Stone was living in some off base apartment with his new bride Rosetta. Called a local pizza joint to order a Medium Pizza. He said “We have medium pizzas.” So Hack asked him what sized pizzas they do sell. “We sell Small, large, and Extra Large.” Hack then asked “Wouldn’t that make the Large Pizza the “medium”?”

Well, technically it IS a holiday even if a sizable chunk of people don’t get it or don’t observe it. At least we got a holiday gift:
“Norway’s prime minister said Monday he received a message from President Donald Trump amid rising tensions over Greenland, a text in which the U.S. leader reportedly suggested he no longer felt bound to think only about peace because he did not receive the Nobel Peace Prize.”
The actual text according to many outlets:
“Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America.
Doesn’t sound to me like he is playing 4D chess, sounds more like a 5 year old having a tantrum because cutting out paper dolls ain’t working.
Sometimes you just can’t tell the difference. The results will tell.
Some European countries sent some of their troops to Greenland as a show of force based on what President Trump said. If this text results in more European troops being sent to Greenland, it will only make a point that Trump has been making on Truth Social. It would also, albeit temporarily, force the Europeans to increase NATO presence in the Arctic in the face of increased RU presence.
Trump argued that the Europeans should take up more responsibility for their defense and for aiding and supporting Ukraine. He’s also looking at what the Chinese and Russians are doing. Both are increasing their military activity in the Arctic area. China is also gaining an ability for a second-strike capability from the Arctic. Russia has resumed base operations along their northern border, and China is describing itself as a “near Arctic player/power.”
Denmark officials have been warning for years that the Russians have been increasing their presence in the area and Denmark hasn’t done jack diddly to counter this via Greenland.
This isn’t about the Nobel prize, but about strengthening his position regarding Greenland. Placing additional tariffs on European countries opposing his Greenland move would bring in additional funds that could be used to purchase Greenland should the Europeans cave. Depending on how long they push back, enough money to purchase Greenland from these Greenland disagreement related tariffs.
Europe needs us more than we need them, we shoulder the bulk of NATO’s defense spending. Meanwhile, the Europeans showed that they’re willing to stand up to the most powerful nation on the planet. Do they really need us at this point to be a large role in their defense? The Europeans are weakening their own arguments for not taking their own defenses seriously via their reactions to Trump’s push for Greenland.
