Man arrested for shooting at victims near Lubbock bar, evading officers
Story by Urijah Jaushlin

LUBBOCK, Texas— Twenty-eight-year-old Juan Lara III was arrested on Wednesday on two charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and one charge of Evading Arrest, after an incident that occurred overnight on Wednesday.

According to an affidavit obtained by EverythingLubbock.com on Wednesday, Lubbock police performed a routine traffic stop around 2:00 a.m. the same morning. While conducting the stop, the driver and front passenger advised officers that Lara had just shot at them.

Both victims told officers that they were at a bar on Slide Road when the two of them got into a verbal altercation with Lara. Court documents show that both victims were attempting to leave the area in an attempt to de-escalate the situation when Lara fired his handgun at them as they were entering the vehicle, almost striking one of the victims.

They quickly left the area and were pulled over on the way home. The officer who conducted the traffic stop noticed a bullet hole in the front windshield, with shattered glass on the dashboard as a result of the impact.

While attempting to locate Lara, he messaged one of the victims, stating he was going to shoot at/kill her, according to court documents. Officers began to search the area near the victim’s address and observed a vehicle that matched the description of the one that Lara was driving.

An officer attempted to pull over Lara, but he led officers on a short chase and was stopped after LPD initiated a low-speed collision.

Lara was then transported to LCDC on a $110,000 bond.

Ruger LCR. Have one in .357 with Galco holster.
Nice smooth fit in an inside coat pocket.
I load it with .38 spl +P to save my knuckles.

North American Arms makes a micro-tiny single-action .22 revolver. Available in .22 Short, .22LR, or .22 Mag.

-tiny-

With the magnums, sounds like a .38 snubbie from that short little barrel. A great DEEP cover gun, but with nothing but a front sight, only good at halitosis range. Or so I hear.

Forgot to mention – small enough to use your blue jeans watch packet for a holster!

My holster is a Galco H159L/WTH300B
Yeah, easy conceal w/holster any pocket.

There are available “pistol optimized” .22mag loads. Also .22LR. Less flashbang and better velocity when used in handguns.
