Israel and Hamas agree to ‘first phase’ of peace plan, Trump says

Israel and Hamas have agreed to the “first phase” of his peace plan to pause fighting and release at least some hostages and prisoners, U.S. President Donald Trump said Wednesday in announcing the outlines of the biggest breakthrough in months in the two-year-old war.
“This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace,” Trump wrote on social media. “All Parties will be treated fairly!”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on social media, “With God’s help we will bring them all home.” Hamas said separately that the deal would ensure the withdrawal of Israeli troops as well as allow for the entry of aid and exchange of hostages and prisoners.
Hamas plans to release all 20 living hostages this weekend, people familiar with the matter told The Associated Press, while the Israeli military will begin a withdrawal from the majority of Gaza.
It was not immediately clear whether the parties had made any progress on thornier questions about the future of the conflict, including whether Hamas will demilitarize, as Trump has demanded, and eventual governance of the war-torn territory. But the agreement nonetheless marked the most momentous development since a deal in January and February that involved the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners.
The only way this works is with the rest of the Middle East countries’ buy-in. With a couple notable exceptions of course. It looks like Trump has made this happen. I’ll save a celebration for when the deal is finally done but for now, amazing progress.

I have no expectations that hamas / the plo or any other terrorist organization residing in Gaza will honor any agreement longer than it takes them to re arm. All of the other “negotiated peace treaties” they reneged on. As long as it is the western / Israeli side doing the proposing instead of the other side surrendering I see no long term peace in the region.
Ancient prophecy does say Israel will sign a peace treaty but it will be broken after a short time and the whole world turns on them, hmm.
Israel is back in their land in unbelief, another prophecy but fulfilled.

Before Monday..
If Israel and Hamas make “peace” for a while, what will all the activists pivot too? We all know the Cause Heads (from PCU) have to a doomsday scenario to protest against or their lives have no meaning.
PCU for those that don’t know was ridiculous take on campus life in the mid-90’s that ended up becoming almost a documentary on woke college culture that’s more relevant today.
PCU was a favorite of mine way back when. One of few VHS tapes we had at the flop house.
We were warned. Too many didn’t listen.
The “Palestinian” people are chronically suffering hatred of Jews and Israel. Hamas will be back, just under a different name.
What is past is prologue.
I’m not seeing so much a problem with the Pali people, as I am with the Ham-ass “leadership”.
Methinks certain “leadership” got told to expect to be
gone and forgotten unless they comply.
The problem is most definitely the people. It is a culture that has been inculcated with knowingly false collective victimhood for generations. The people voted for Hamas, support that remains unwavering. The “starvation” and “horrors” are completely blamed on Israel and the West, despite watching Hamas confiscate aid and threaten or kill anyone who stands up to them.
Because, Hamas wouldn’t have to do those things if Israel didn’t exist. And, if the West didn’t cut-off Hamas’ ability to continue its work to eradicate Jews.
Hand to God, with my ears, this is how I’ve heard it all explained and justified.
Every time you are moved to feel sorry for the people, remember no other country wants the people, even countries that share the religion, ethnicity, and general heritage. There is a culture, rooted in hatred of Jews and victimhood of themselves, in the people that is generations deep that is anathema to any even partially civilized society. Considering the human rights record and general living conditions of many of those countries, their refusal to take in the people is a very loud statement too many are not hearing.
“Palestinians” will bite the hand that feeds them. History shows us this fact. Leaving them with no allies. Iran is not their ally, Iran is Hamas’ puppeteer.
Lesson accepted.
I guess I have Western bias to look at the people in a better light.

Oh, I do. The “Palestinian” people are taught from the time they can walk to hate Jews and Israel with a passion. Look at the videos of the hostages being brought into the Gaza Strip. Pretty widespread joy at their kidnapping. And 80% of “Palestinians” supported 7 October. The other 20% probably thought they were being messed with.
You probably have already seen memri.org, but if not I recommend it. The children’s shows are particularly eye opening. And it’s a real “joy” hearing the mothers talk about they are pumping out lots of kids so that they can contribute more martyrs to the cause.
They are a deeply sick community.

There will only be peace there when from the river to the sea the entire area will be Palestinian free.
Encouraging — but I’m not particularly optimistic, either.
Time will tell.
The peace will be broken by Hamas/Iran/Al-Aqsa Brigade/whatever-new-name-they-give-themselves by bombing/blowing up some of their own people. It will be then blamed on Israel just like the bombing of the hospital. International media will run with the story despite clear, obvious evidence contrary to their anti-Israel narrative. The rockets, terror attacks, suicide bombers, etc., etc., against Israeli citizens will continue as before. And no, there won’t be any international outcry of the horrors being inflicted on the poor, innocent Jewish civilians.
While I desire peace, methinks Trump et al are fooling themselves if they expect this to last long.
After God has destroyed His enemies, there will be peace. Anything else is merely a temporary respite.
That said, anything that alleviates the suffering of people for just a while is to be sought fervently.
Trump maybe, but I can’t imagine many others thinking this will last much past the hostages being released, if that long.
Yeah, I’m not holding my breath but as was fortold in Bill and Ted’s Biblical Prophicies, “Strange things are afoot at the Circle K”….and I’m not saying anything but, maybe Trump is Jesus, masked and he has returned to bring worldwide peace and prosperity….or he’s in league with aliens and their technology (“Project Looking Glass,” Nikola Tesla) or maybe this is all smoke and mirrors and goes to shit before a week from next Thursday.

At least, with the hostages gone, Israel can hammer Hamas without worrying about hitting hostages when they invariably mess around again, sooner rather than later. Maybe Greta will go there and chain herself to something beforehand so she can ask “how dare y-Boom!”

The agreement came about because the Israelis attacked Hamas leadership in Qatar.
The Qataris demanded a defense agreement from the U.S.
Trump demanded the Qataris lean on Hamas to release the hostages.
Turkey is in because Trump will allow them to get the F 35 plane if they lean on Hamas to release the hostages.
Egypt and the Saudis are in agreement but I have no info on what they were given in exchange
I hate to be a pessimist, but Hamas signed that with their fingers crossed behind their backs!! Cocksuckers!!
What I want to see is if they truly surrender their weapons. That is when the rubber will really hit the road.
Hamas will rebrand itself under another faction, rearm, plan and plot, and align itself with other factions and attack in the future…again. We’ve fucking seen this movie before and it has the same ending.
