Monday follow-ups

Remember that “relief flotilla” of boats bringing aid to Gaza Looks like they had a relatively smooth sail across the Mediterranean – at least until the Israeli Navy showed up. After action reports say all ships were stopped, and none actually got through the blockading ships and reached Gaza. Most of the 450 detained were taken to the Israeli prison in the Negev, Ketsiot, before the process of repatriating them started.
But of course, allegations of torture of the prisoners were reported –
The Israeli Foreign Ministry said it offered voluntary deportation to all of the activists and those that remain in detention chose to stay there in order to go through a legal deportation process.
On his return at Rome’s Fiumicino Airport late Saturday, Italian journalist Saverio Tommasi said Israeli soldiers withheld medicines and treated prisoners “like monkeys.” AP
“We also saw Greta Thunberg at the port, in that case with her arms tied and an Israeli flag next to her, just a mockery,” he said.HuffPost
Not sure what they expected, but being treated as criminals apparently wasn’t on their wish list. Well, if ya trespass where you are told not to go – better be ready to handle the consequences.
Might also note that this ‘torture’ and abuse was reported by AP and Al Jazeera. Neither is noted for its altruistic neutrality. It’s also worth noting that supposedly one of the centerpieces of this abuse, Greta Thunberg, did not report mistreatment.

Let’s move on to someone else whose expectations didn’t pan out.
Newly released records show that Pete Arredondo, the Uvalde school district chief, offered to resign a couple of months after the school shootings:
Two months after the 2022 mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, then-school district police chief Pedro “Pete” Arredondo offered to resign in return for a $1.1 million payout.
The records include a July 2022 letter to Uvalde’s school superintendent from attorney George E. Hyde, who represented Arredondo at the time. In the letter. Hyde argued that Arredondo should not be fired and should be allowed to resign under “honorable conditions.”
Hyde wrote that Arredondo acted bravely during the May 24, 2022, shooting and that firing him would be “illegal and unconstitutional.”San Antonio Express News
“Bravely” – well, on the list of descriptions of Arredondo, that word must certainly come at the end of the list. $1.1 million…that’s chutzpah.

And we close with a story about one of Trump’s Chief of Staff’s Stephen Miller’s aides. Seems Anthony Salisbury was observed texting on Signal (when are these idiots gonna learn?)
The messages, casually exchanged last weekend in a crowded, public space, show high-level officials in the Trump administration discussing the deployment of the Army’s 82nd?Airborne…
Over the course of several conversations, totaling dozens of messages, Salisbury chatted candidly, and at times profanely, about a wide range of matters with Hegseth’s adviser Patrick Weaver and other high-ranking federal officials. Mediaite
Apparently the discussions were visible enough for others to take shots of them. We already know some of these idiots don’t understand OPSEC; one would think that something as basic as “where are we sending crisis troops” should trigger at least a little discretion.

“Hyde wrote that Arredondo acted bravely during the May 24, 2022, shooting…”
Reminds me of an old song;
“When danger reared it’s ugly head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled.
Yes, brave Sir Robin turned about
And gallantly he chickened out….”
Great job there, Chief! /sarc

I wonder if Salisbury was in a restaurant eating steak.
🤣
Wheas that kwazy wabbit
How could someone take a picture of this dude’s signal messages?
Ancient Signal Corps secret.
Ugh!
Samuel Morse taught the Indians how to use one’s and
zero’s to communicate. Then Bill Gates and George Eastman
stepped in with video and the internet. History….
Remember the 1980 Rendleshem forest incident at the US Air Force base where the Sgt walks up to the landed trianguler object and put his palm against the metal and a shit load of ones and zeros went through his head and he wrote them down and some time later he showed it to a computer Maven and the numbers came across as a message from whom ever sent in the craft. I think it was on the History channel but maybe googled online.
Forgot to add in that when we were picking up stocks&bonds in the nyc financial district, I remember the punch cards then as time went by, the floors were raised for wiring for all the office PC’s that were being installed.
