Man killed after attempted burglary in AR, police say
Story by Vivian Nguyen
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man suffering from a gunshot wound was pronounced dead in a field after an attempted burglary in Forrest City, Arkansas, on Wednesday, according to police. At 3:31 p.m., the Forrest City Police Department said they responded to a call that a man was behind a church.
When officers arrived, they attempted to locate the man, and when an officer got out of the vehicle, they said they saw a person lying on the ground in the field.
Officers said they ran to assist the man and found him on his left side. Police attempted to wake the man up and tried to administer Narcan to the man.
According to the FCPD, police rolled the man over and saw blood on his shirt and a bullet wound on his upper chest.
Reports said that EMS was dispatched, and officers began CPR. Police said when the coroner arrived, they pronounced the man, Logan Like, dead at 4:25 a.m.
FCPD said that they found a black baseball cap near Like and a shoe insole farther away.
Officers recalled they received an attempted break-in call on Center Street, so they went west down Midway Avenue and found a black and silver bag.
They said they found a backpack and a moped parked in an area behind the attempted break-in at Center Street.
Officers said they also later found a pair of slides they thought belonged to Like because he was not wearing shoes.
According to reports, a window screen was found on the ground and appeared to have been shot from the inside of the residence.
Police said they made contact with the resident and the caller to collect evidence, and no charges have been filed.
“He didn’t get all the way into the house, he pulled the screen off and he was pushing in and pushed the curtain, the man saw the white off his shirt and shot him,” said Chief Ronald Broussard of the Forrest City Police Dept.
Broussard said a SkyCop surveillance system recorded the incident.

The deceased was apparently a frequent flyer with the local Po-Po and likely was looking to support his crack habit. Wrong house.
There was only one catch and that was Catch-22. Orr would be crazy to fly more missions and sane if he didn’t, but if he was sane he had to fly them. If he flew them he was crazy and didn’t have to; but if he didn’t want to he was sane and had to.

Sorry Mr Douglas, you’re a poor salesman.
You say you’ve had your S&W M&P10 for two years, and the only distance and accuracy data you can give us is 90 yards?
i was expecting a whole article of data and tables with different bullet weights and distances out to 800-1000 yards.
And for $1K+?
I think I’ll wait to buy my 308.
First time I’ve heard of the M&P10. Bass Pro sells plenty of M&P15s but the only .308s regularly carried are the Ruger SFAR and some CMMGs.
I own an M&P15; pretty good gun, but when I get a .308, it’ll likely be a SFAR.
Yes please tell us how you feel about Mr Logan.
Do you, you know, Like him?
Or do you Like Like him?
“…tried to administer Narcan to the man.”
Well, that was a waste of a can of Narcan.
Given the situation, Narcan is likely to be a common remedy
They grabbed the wrong meds. They actually administered Narcan’t to him.
I don’t need the S&W m10. I already have a 308. I got a garand about 25 years ago. I sent it back to springfield because the barrel was worn out. (Korean war return). I asked that they convert it to 7.62 NATO since that cartridge is cheaper and more prevalent than the old 30-06.
Took nearly 13 hours for the coroner to get there?
Well, it WAS in Memphis. I mean, be fair.
Well the waitress final calls you for your table at the best BBQ joint in town, you ignore the text messages popping up on your phone.
Officer Baker: “Hey, Ponch. Looks like this guy OD’d. What do we do?”
Officer Poncherelli: “OD’d? Give him Narcan! Now!”
Baker: *administers Narcan without success.*
Ponch: Looks closely. Sees GSW. “This guy was shot, and not with a needle!”
Baker: “I assess it as an overdose of lead.”
Ponch and Baker mount their bikes and ride down the highway.
OY! How many times do I have to tell these schmendricks? Don’t go to houses that don’t sell crack! You’ll get shot at those!
Schmuck!
Instead of the white of his eyes home defender looked for the white of his shirt.
