Pirro on losing streak

| August 29, 2025

The U.S. Attorney General’s office is having a bad week. Two fairly high profile cases haven’t made it to the courts.

The first concerns an FBI agent who claims his hand was injured by a woman resisting arrest.

The rejection came in the case of Sidney Reid, who prosecutors in Washington alleged last month had “forcefully pushed” an FBI agent’s hand against a cement wall and “caused lacerations” on the agent’s hand during an immigration enforcement protest.

Last week, a federal magistrate judge held a preliminary hearing and found probable cause that Reid violated the assault law, 18 U.S.C. Section 111(a)(1). The judge gave the government until Monday afternoon to secure an indictment.

Get it in front of a grand jury, right? We know the famous cliche – that most any prosecutor can get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich. The prosecutor is the only one submitting any evidence, there is no defense lawyer present – it’s about as one-sided a process as it’s possible to have.

Monday afternoon came and the government filed not an indictment but a notice to the court. It said not only that “an Indictment has not been returned in this case” but, incredibly, that “a third grand jury returned a no true bill.” A true bill is when the grand jury votes to indict.

Indeed, it’s unusual for a grand jury not to indict any case, though it happens. Twice is rarer still. Three times is a sign that things are fully off the rails.  MSNBC

It’s worth noting that the charge is for a felony, and the AG’s office may be able to get a misdemeanor conviction, for which the grand jury is unnecessary. But three grand juries all saying the charges brought shouldn’t go to trial?  Not a real great omen for a prosecutor’s success. But lest you think that is as bad as it gets:

Sean Charles Dunn famously was charged with throwing a sub sandwich at a Customs and Border Patrol agent and hitting said agent in the chest with it. The agent was uninjured (probably his chest plates were 12″ sandwich rated and a measly 6″ didn’t even leave a bruise.)

A video of the incident went viral, and shortly after he was fired from the Justice Department, where he worked as an international affairs specialist in the department’s criminal division.

Dunn was also charged under the same code as cited above, and his Felony Sub Throw also went to a grand jury.

Federal prosecutors have failed to obtain a felony indictment against a man who was seen on camera hurling a sandwich at a federal law enforcement official in the nation’s capital, a person familiar with the matter told The Associated Press.  AP

Think that makes at least four grand jury rejections in three days? Not a good look for ANY prosecutor, much less a Federal prosecutor. Perhaps instead of going for a worst-case charge (as what, “sending a message”?) Ms. Pirro’s folks might try realistic charges which could stick.

It’s DC. Most idiots up there are sympathetic to the actions of the morons and their minions. Almost any charges brought against a Trump hating buffoon will be no billed. It’s not Pirro, it’s the resident idiots that live in that shit hole.

Yup, exactly what I was going to say.

The entire DC judicial system, including the jury pool, is an extension of the Democrat party.

There is zero chance leftists will be held accountable for their actions there, even in federal court.

Had something similar occurred by a conservative during the FJB Administration, you can be certain a conviction would be on the way.

It’s the status quo when liberals commit crimes, so this isn’t surprising.

Yep, the city is 92% Democrat. Trying to get a felony indictment for assaulting a police officer is going to be slim pickings.

Green Thumb

The sandwich shit as a felony was straight up stupid.

Part of the issue is also the jury pool. DC is as liberal as it gets.

Politics at play? Yes on both sides. But why is supposedly secret grand jury information being leaked? Inquiring minds want to know.

He has new fish to fry this Friday anyway.

Dave Perry, “20 year combat veteran” suitably impressed no one by burning a flag in front of the White House with all of his friends (spoiler alert, there aren’t any).

Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH Neande

It may have been pointed out before, but if these nimrods think it’s ok to burn that capitalist fascist symbol of the US, the American flag, as a sign of 1A protected protest; then why do they have such a screeching tantrum spastic whenever someone burns a LGBT(etc) or sand chigger flag??

5JC

Or when they paint it on the street and they are surprised when people drive on it? Clearly those people wanting to go to work every day are bigots. Streets are for painting flags not commuting.

Same jury pool Jack Smith used to indict Trump for Federal election interference, and where did that go?

So instead he’ll be prosecuted for a misdemeanor- still needs a lawer and he’s currently unemployed all because of his brave virtue signaling.
