Suspect critically injured after shooting with deputies in Harris County
The suspect was taken by Life Flight to the hospital.

HOUSTON — A 66-year-old man opened fire on Harris County Sheriff’s deputies Tuesday evening after they responded to a domestic disturbance call, according to the initial investigation, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said. Three deputies returned fire, leaving the suspect with critical injuries.It happened on Wolsley Court in a neighborhood just north of the intersection of 290 and FM 1960/Highway 6.
The shooting occurred at 6:04 p.m. when deputies responded to a call from a woman who said her husband had kicked her out of their home while he was intoxicated, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
The man immediately opened fire on the deputies as soon as they tried to make contact with him, Gonzalez said. Three deputies returned fire in response.
One deputy received a cut on his head during the incident, though the injury was not believed to be from gunfire.
The suspect was taken by Life Flight to the hospital. He was in critical condition.

Hostage escapes, shoots suspect before multi-county car chase ends in arrest, deputies say

CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. —
A Chester County, South Carolina, man has been arrested after being shot by the hostage he had taken and leading deputies on a multi-county chase, authorities say.On Wednesday around 1 a.m., Chester County deputies say they were called to a home on Oak Hill Road in reference to a shooting.
Upon arrival, deputies say they found one victim who says they were being held hostage and physically assaulted at their home since 10 p.m. on Tuesday, by Eric Lee Pressley.
While being held hostage, the victim says they were able to get ahold of a handgun and fire several rounds at Pressley.
Following the shooting, Pressley drove away in the victim’s vehicle after being shot.
Chester County deputies say they found the stolen vehicle at the QT Gas Station in Richburg and tried to make a traffic stop.
Pressley fled in the stolen vehicle, and led deputies on a vehicle chase.
According to deputies, this chase continued into York County.
The vehicle chase ended in the area of the Piedmont Medical Center on Highway 160 in Fort Mill.
Deputies say they were able to take Pressley into custody at that time and he was taken to the hospital for injuries he sustained.
As a result of the investigation deputies say they will be getting warrants on Pressley for the following crimes:
First degree assault and battery
Grand larceny
KidnappingDeputies say that Pressley will be transported to the Chester County Detention Center following being released from the hospital.
