President Trump: Tehran’s forces largely “knocked out”

| March 4, 2026 | 30 Comments

President Donald Trump said that Tehran’s forces have largely been knocked out. Reports indicate that 17 Iranian ships were destroyed and nearly 2,000 targets hit. Admiral Brad Cooper, Commander for U.S. Central Command provided an update on X and declared that Iranian naval activity has been halted along the most critical waterways. Cooper further said that there were no operating Iranian ship in the Arabian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman.

From Newsmax:

The U.S. military has destroyed 17 Iranian ships, including a submarine, and struck nearly 2,000 targets in Iran in the opening phase of President Donald Trump’s campaign against Tehran.

The tally came from U.S. Central Command Cmdr. Brad Cooper, Reuters reported.

Cooper said in a video posted to X that Iranian naval operations have effectively been halted across the region’s most critical waterways.

“Today, there is not a single Iranian ship underway in the Arabian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz, or Gulf of Oman,” Cooper said in the video.

The figures underscore the scale of the U.S. offensive ordered by Trump, which administration officials have framed as a direct effort to dismantle the regime’s ability to threaten Americans, Israel and U.S. partners across the Middle East.

CENTCOM has said publicly that the operation is targeting Iranian command-and-control nodes, air defenses, missile and drone launch infrastructure and other military facilities tied to attacks on U.S. forces and allies.

Stars and Stripes reported that U.S. forces used a wide mix of aircraft, ships, missiles and drones in the opening days of the operation and had already surpassed 1,000 strikes early in the campaign as the target list expanded.

President Trump has argued the pace and breadth of the strikes have crippled Tehran’s ability to fight, saying Iran’s military has effectively been “knocked out” and that key systems including its navy, air force, radar network and air defenses have been neutralized, according to reporting by Time.

Military Times and Axios also reported that Trump said U.S. forces destroyed nine Iranian naval ships and that Iran’s naval headquarters had been “largely destroyed,” as he pointed to the naval campaign as evidence the regime is rapidly losing its ability to project power in the region.

A long time coming since 79. They are deep in the FO stage.

Looking back to a very short time ago, Iran was trying to contract with China to purchase supersonic anti-ship missiles a week ago.

https://www.reuters.com/world/china/iran-nears-deal-buy-supersonic-anti-ship-missiles-china-2026-02-24/

Negotiations with China to buy the missile weapons systems, which began at least two years ago, accelerated sharply after the 12‑day war between Israel and Iran in June, according to the six people with knowledge of the talks, including three officials who were briefed by the Iranian government as well as three security officials. As talks entered their final stages last summer, senior Iranian military and government officials travelled to China, including Massoud Oraei, Iran’s deputy defence minister, according to two of the security officials. Oraei’s visit has not been previously reported.

“It’s a complete gamechanger if Iran has supersonic capability to attack ships in the area,” said Danny Citrinowicz, a former Israeli intelligence officer and now senior Iran researcher at Israel’s Institute for National Security Studies think tank. “These missiles are very difficult to intercept.”

Somehow I don’t think they’ll be following through with that order..

A sub sunk, so we let the news sink in to the iranian big shits.
Was in Publix back in 2007 when I moved down here and some guy sees my LPH-3 cap and says to me, I was on a sub and your surface ship was considered a target. we both laughed when he said that.

The maximum depth of the Persian/ Arabian Gulf is about 100 meters with an average depth of around 40 meters. I’m not sure that even qualifies as a dive for a modern nuclear sub since a Seawolf has a draft of around 10M.

And in even more submariner news, the first US Sub sinking of a war ship since WWII by torpedo.

I heard that all day on the radio and just tuned into NewsMax and saw the video.

In yet another first, the F35 registered it’s first ABT combat kill by shooting down a Yak-130 which is a generation 4+ fighter.

https://www.foxnews.com/world/israel-says-fighter-jet-took-down-iranian-warplane-first-shootdown-its-kind

The F35 has shot down a lot of drones but drones mostly don’t shoot back.

Correction, the YAK 130 is a ground attack aircraft but..

As an advanced training aircraft, the Yak-130 is able to replicate the characteristics of several four-plus generation fighters and the fifth-generation Sukhoi Su-57. It can also perform light-attack and reconnaissance duties, carrying a combat load of 3,000 kg (6,600 lb).

Mason

It’s capable of carrying air-to-air missiles. Given the state of the Iranian Air Force, they are most definitely operating it as a fighter.

Oh well for them, for over the last 45 years everyone has been letting them get away being little shits, now literally nobody GAF about them harvesting what they’ve sown since Jimmeh Kahtuh pussyfooted around during the hostage crisis in 1979.

No kidding, the only ones coming to their defense are US liberals, the irony of that is too much. Even some of those are starting to walk back their comments.

That is not surprising since they object to deporting criminal illegal aliens.

Plenty of room for others. When this happened:

Somebody said:

Same moron who gave a hollow warning “Don’t…” a couple of years ago.

Sorry ass POS.

That was basically his foreign policy.

Turns out that simply saying “don’t” is not an effective deterrent against genocidal regimes hellbent on the destruction of Israel—and the United States. On October 18, 2023, merely 11 days after the Hamas-led massacre against Israel, President Joe Biden issued a warning to any state or hostile actor considering attacking Israel: “Don’t, don’t, don’t.”

Turns out it doesn’t work even when you say it three times.

Want to see what Trump’s plan is for all the tanker and dry cargo ships now stuck inside the Gulf due to cancelled insurance. A handful are American flag dry cargo carriers and while it’s great he is planning to have the Navy escort ships out and provide them with insurance for the passage, the Navy appears to be hesitant (if not refusing) to provide escort — and it only applies to the tankers which are nearly 100% foreign flagged, leaving much bitterness among the American sailors now stranded by their vessel owners.

AND cue the Kurds!

I guess the CIA has been busy.

Allegedly.

If anyone in the Middle East have been kicked around the most and dish out some equal kicking in kind, it’s the Kurds. By my reasoning, they deserve their Kurdistan.
