Report of stolen truck preceded fatal police shooting outside Amazon warehouse, police say

The man shot and killed by authorities outside the Amazon warehouse in Florence, Kentucky, was pulled over shortly before the shots rang out on suspicions that he stole a commercial truck, investigators said.Emergency dispatchers said the original call came around 6:27 a.m. on April 29. The shooting happened in the 7400 block of Industrial Road near the warehouse. The Boone County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting involved two of their deputies.
Michael Simpson, 35, of Cleves, was shot and taken to St. Elizabeth in Florence, where he was pronounced dead, according to the sheriff’s office and Kentucky State Police.
No injuries were reported among any law enforcement officers, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
Deputies and Florence police responded to a call about the stolen truck, and when they stopped the vehicle, Simpson exited and did not comply with officers’ commands, leading to a scuffle, the state police said in a news release.
Investigators said Simpson pulled out a firearm, pointed it toward his head and started walking to an industrial park area, the release states. At some point during the incident, the two deputies fired their service weapons.

I’m guessing that his intent was to pull up in front of his intended victims house in the Amazon truck and act like he was delivering a package, then assassinate them!
