Secret Service shoots man in overnight ‘armed confrontation’ near White House
The shooting took place after police were notified about a suicidal man in the area

The Secret Service shot a man during an armed confrontation near the White House Sunday, the agency announced.
The incident unfolded just after midnight, about a block west of the White House near the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
Police sources identified the suspect as 27-year-old Andrew Dawson, of Indiana. Agents said he was armed with a firearm and a knife when he was confronted by agents investigating an earlier alert.
Indiana police had notified D.C. authorities that Dawson was driving to the Washington, D.C. area and was “suicidal.” Intelligence bulletins also indicated that the suspect wanted to commit “suicide by cop.”
Members of the Secret Service encountered the man’s parked car near 17th and F Streets, NW, and saw a person matching his description nearby.
They told him to drop the weapons, but he did not comply. That’s when the Secret Service says Dawson “reached toward his waist,” so they opened fire, Fox News learned.

Mr. Dawson was rushed to a hospital nearby- his condition is unreported. Thanks, Gun Bunny.
It’s time for us to do what we have been doing and that time is every day.

Bringing a knife AND a gun to a suicide -by-cop gunfight.
A death wish is definitely a T2NB2AGF.
Seems like the Secret Service has gotten their act together a little more better of late. James West and Artemus Gordon…grin.
I gots to take time everyday this week to do some time consuming escort/chores/runs. Past time for The Coco (Puffy Puppy) Melon to get a haircut, time to see the toof doc tomorrow, and time for escort duty on Wednesday. And yep, it’s been raining for a long time and will be raining time and time again this week.
Hmmm…looks like we have “Wheel Gun Week” time coming up. I always have a good time when it’s Wheel Gun Time. Nicest thing about this time is there is no time for plasticized abominations.
Cue up…well…IYKYK…

Hmmm…..wha’happened to my post?
Try again.

They opened fine for me, Tox. Maybe admin “fixed” them since your post.
The best paragraph in the whole article was one that I have used for years…and still practice…
“Automatics are totally dependent on perfect ammunition for certain functioning and are, for that reason, a second choice for a defense gun. If a jam or a misfire occurs then two hands are needed to clear the jam and get the gun in action again. For that reason, they are never as reliable as a good cylinder gun when one’s life is at stake.”
In other news, The Coco (Puffy Puppy) has been washed, coiffed, with a nail trim, such a Handsome Lad, he was getting quite shaggy since he was rescued back in November. The boy done put on some weight gone from 16#s to 23#s. NOBODY goes hungry @ Fire Base Magnolia…NOBODY! While The Gun Bunny was waiting on Ms Thang, the Puppy Groomer, he stepped into Abby’s Cafe (my FIRST time there) and drew rations of fried yardbird, smashed taters (gravy), green beans with bacon, Lacy Anne Johnny Cakes, homemade Peanut Butter Cookie Bar, and the House Wine…Sweet Iced Tea. The serving was so generous that I ate my fill and got gracious plenty left over for supper. THE Feel Good Story of the day.
I’m glad the pooch didn’t have a Ruff day.
Some’mit wrong wif posting a link from AmericanRifleman?
Third time’s the charm, change the linkage, you’ll have to make it work yerself. You’ll know what to do.

Damn! If Admin can be stubborn, then so can I.
There’s always a way around everything.
What does Admin and/or TAH al-gore-rhythms have against American Rifleman?

The Admin is slacking off again, dammit.
*grin*
At least ya got me to become more fully awake on this oh-dark-too-damned-early lose-an-hour morning. Just don’t let it happen again.

Circular word salad, processed through the milk cow, and deposited on the north pasture.
Getting up an hour earlier and pretending that it’s 06:00 when my body knows damn well that it’s 05:00 makes for a dull start of the week. Unless I’m flying to somewhere I actually want to go. But, that’s different.
I’d love to see the gas seal concept revisited. With modern tech, the DA trigger pull could be significantly improved.
Devise an ‘ uncircumcised ‘ flush fitting .357 load perhaps?
Was thinking about that too.
An updated concept of the M-N pistol, using standard ammunition. Maybe make it a single action ((the hammer must be manually cocked before pulling the trigger, which only releases the hammer to fire)), with a cocking of the hammer rotating the cylinder, pushing the cylinder forward against the forcing cone, and setting the trigger to a decent 3-5 pound pull.
Would definitely have to modify the forcing cone and the cylinder. After that……have fun….or a nightmare.
Not sure if it would improve ballistics (speed & accuracy) for the round, but it might make a suppressed revolver feasible (and give LibTards & BATFEces fits & shits hehehe)
(Wonder what Col Keith would think about messing with his much beloved SAA?)
Off the top of my head……the gas seal added 300ishFPS to the fairly mild 7.62x38R when compared to the non-gas seal Pieper revolver.
