Naval Academy closing DEI offices to align with Trump executive orders: memo

Staff at Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, also told to remove ‘gender-identifying pronouns’ from email signatures
By Greg Norman

The head of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, says the school is “taking steps to close all agency Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) offices and end all DEIA-related contracts in accordance with President Trump’s executive orders,” according to an email obtained by Fox News.

The message sent to staff by Vice Adm. Yvette Davids in late January began by noting that “The President has directed that the following information be forwarded to all employees.”

“We are taking steps to close all agency Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) offices and end all DEIA-related contracts in accordance with President Trump’s executive orders titled Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Preferencing and Initial Rescissions of Harmful Executive Orders and Actions,” it said.

Fox News

In June of ’23 SCOTUS found that the admissions programs used by the University of North Carolina and Harvard College violated the Constitution’s equal protection clause, which bars racial discrimination by government entities.

The Biden administration and 35 former top military leaders filed as a “friend of the court” in support of Harvard and UNC, had emphasized that senior military leaders believe that it is important to have a diverse officer corps. This in turn requires the consideration of race for admission to the service academies. Since the service academies were not named in the Harvard and UNC cases the lower courts did not consider that argument. Chief Justice Roberts indicated in a footnote the Supreme Court did not weigh in on the issue, “in light of the potentially distinct interests that military academies may present.”

This non-decision shielding the service academies was doomed the moment Affirmative Action was found to be unconstitutional, and rightly so. One would think schoolhouse leadership would have seen this coming and make changes proactively, but it seems not to be the case. If they were hoping to run out the clock in the courts, Trump’s sweeping federal ban on DEI crushed that scheme.

The hits just keep on rollin.

Ironically, since admissions were required to become color/sex/ethnicity blind (however they phrase it) I read that, at least some prestigious schools, minority admissions have CLIMBED.

And I bet their self-pride rocketed with it.

USNA also shut down the mess halls for each race and are back to one mess hall. I thought that we were back in the 1950’s with the USNA mess hall segrigation.

Removal of Pronouns Displayed in Email and Other Applications:

XXXX is tracking several executive orders and guidance from the Office of Personnel Management, one of which is titled, “Defending Women.” XXXXX intends to comply with this executive order and guidance, in part through the action outlined below.

In response to the Executive Orders, xxxxx has disabled features in xxxx and Teams that allow users to add pronouns in their display name in Microsoft Outlook and Teams. Your display name is the name that appears in Teams, the Global Address List (GAL), and the Address Look-up function which appears as the “Select Names” pop-up box when you’re addressing an e-mail and provides a list of xxxxxx workers by “last name, first name.”
For users who have previously added pronouns to their display name, those pronouns will be automatically removed from the system this week. It may take up to 90 days for changes to be reflected fully across all xxxxxx
systems.
In addition, xxxxx has adopted a uniform signature block for emails that are sent using any xxxx.gov email address. All users (civil servants, contractors, and grantees) must modify their signature block to follow the appropriate signature block found on page 34 of the xxx Graphic Standards Manual. While you may remove contents (i.e. cell phone, fax numbers, etc.), the signature block should not include additional embellishment. If contractors or grantees have questions regarding implementation, they should reach out to their Contracting Officer or Grants Officer.
See example signatures below.

But I like pronouns. That way I know who and what I am talking to. I just don’t like pretend pronouns.

Let’s go!
I always called it Fort Benning, and always will.
Now, lets search for someone with the last name Benning other than General Henry Benning. That way there is no excuse for the libtards to change it again when they worm their way back into power in the next decade or so.

There was a lot of bitching about the cost of changing the names the first time. Probably won’t see as much this time.

I would hope that any DOD resources being used to “transition” (IMO mentally ill people) from their birth sex to the other side needs to stop. Uncle Sam has a hard time taking care of folks who were injured in the line of duty already and should not be footing the bill for those people who cannot accept themselves for what they are.

When diabetics get medically chaptered/retired as unsustainable if deployed, trannies (dependent on all sorts of medical support) should be too.

Good.

I always thought the military was more about uniformity than diversity. You can’t show up for work wearing whatever you want or whenever you want.
