Introduction

| January 4, 2010

Hello all,

My name is Operator Dan and Jonn has given me the opportunity to post on TAH. I am an infantry Marine (0311) who recently EAS’ed (ETS for you all in the Army) from the Corps. I spent the first two and a half years of my enlistment as part of the Marine Security Company at Camp David. Following my time there, I served as a team leader and vehicle commander in 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines and deployed to Iraq. I am currently waiting to start school at Arizona State where I am planning on majoring in history and drinking PBR.

I have been a longtime reader and fan of this blog and I look forward to 1.) proving that a Marine grunt can read and write and 2.) proving that a Marine grunt can use a computer.

S/F,

OD

well I would believe an Apple, but not a PC.

Welcome from a, ex-11b (actually an 11M).

TSO

Welcome Dan, may your tenure here be blessed and relieve me of being yelled at by Jonn for too little posting…

YatYas

This is a great site, but glad to see Jonn has opened it for some Marine flair. Good luck and Semper Gumby, Dan.

USMC Chri

FINALLY. Someone with some real balls decides to write on this godforsaken blog. I felt like I was the only one that was keeping these women in check here.

Snowman

Oh, man, wait’ll COB6 gets wind of this.

You know what happens when a Ranger and a Marine jump out of an airplane? (Hint: The Ranger is the one with the parachute.)

This won’t be pretty. COB, where are you?

Yat Yas

Snowman, that’s nothing but Army propaganda. At Jump School, we told the Black Hats that parachutes were snivel gear, but they made us use them anyways.

Snowman

Hehe. Well, at least the Marine would have his M-16. He’d have that going for him.

BooRadley

Welcome! 🙂

AW1 Tim

Welcome aboard, shipmate!

Nice to have a webfoot writing gouge for a change. 🙂

sgt d

No shit! I’m in fox what company were you with, and when was your eas?

sgt d

Who were you with? #$%&in cellphones!

DirtyMick

Danimal I can’t believe they let you on here.

Ray

OD, welcome! As much shit as I give to Jarheads, I’ve always held them in great respect. I mean… we can’t all be smart enough to stay on the boat. 😉

defendUSA

So Far, OD, you’re looking good…Welcome.

We Army types like you Devil Dogs, because in the end it’s one team, one fight… and I hear you guys like to break things, too. Semper fi!

B Woodman

OD,
Welcome to the sheep dip (I mean, sheep fold). Good to have another voice of experience on board.

Jerry920

Welcome OD. I am retired Army, but having worked with and trained many Marines over the years, I have to say I am proud to have been associated with a fine group of warriors.

Just A Grunt

A Marine huh, with a computer? Well that is bound to cause some sleepless nights.

OldTrooper

Welcome aboard, OD, good to have a Marine to post some stuff for an added perspective. Even us Army types like the Corps, that way when we’re called knuckle draggers, we have someone else to point to. 🙂

ROS

Considering the grammatical accuracy of your initial post, how are we to believe you’re REALLY a Marine?

Hmmmm?

And welcome to the circus.

NHSparky

Trooper–I hear ya. When the Marines get their laptops, the keyboards only have two keys–Porn and WoW. Kinda like TSO’s keyboard.

OldTrooper

I didn’t want to say it, Sparky, but I was thinking the same thing.

USMC Chris

hey, i’ve never played WoW ever. it might be because my computer has slowed down to the point where it stalls from all the viruses i’ve gotten from my “free” porn, but i take offense to the WoW comment. Now if they could somehow merge WoW and Porn together…..

Joe

Good luck at ASU. Hope you enjoy the winters in Phoenix, and survive the summers…..

thebronze

What years were you in?

OldSoldier54

“At Jump School, we told the Black Hats that parachutes were snivel gear,…”

LOL! Just about peed my pants reading that!

Welcome, OD! Hope your liver survives party school ASU.

DanNY

Wow! A Marine! The place is never gonna be the same!
Ooraah!
Giterdone OD!

thebronze

Any Mouse,

I was at Happy Horno from ’86-’88.

I was on Barracks Duty at NAS North Island the two years before that.

Yat Yas

thebronze:
If I remember right, Horno also had another name. Something to do with some movies made out there. I felt bad for the crunchies, considering I was on the beach at Camp Del Mar with 3rd Tracks.
