Woman allegedly punched a Santa Claus at Christmas parade for blocking her view
A woman is facing charges for allegedly punching a Santa Claus for blocking her view at a Christmas parade in Ontario on Saturday, police said.
The St. Thomas Police Service said the dispute occurred between spectators at the 38th annual Santa Claus Parade Saturday evening in St. Thomas, about 115 miles northeast of Detroit.
A 62-year-old woman, who was not named by police, allegedly got into a dispute with a fellow spectator dressed as Santa Claus for allegedly blocking her family’s view of the parade.
“The suspect struck the victim in the face, knocking them to the ground,” police said.
The woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters before being released with a future court date.
This year’s parade, sponsored by the Optimist Club of St. Thomas, had a theme of “Christmas at the Circus.”

Colorado deputy resigns after discovery of her adult videos; says financial pressure pushed her into pornography
Shannon Lofland, a 21 year veteran of the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office, resigned this week in the midst of a department internal investigation into her performing in adult videos, jobs she says she took “out of desperation.”
The veteran deputy told CBS News Colorado she turned to performing in adult videos because “I was desperate, I was drowning. I found a legal, lucrative means for providing that support for my family that I needed at that time to save my home for them and feed my family.”
The 44-year-old wife and mother had been the sheriff’s office driver training instructor for years, a job she said she loved up until she submitted her resignation on Tuesday.
“I found my niche in the law enforcement world as a support role. … I have been dedicated and loyal. I truly enjoy what I do and all of the lives I have been able to touch,” said Lofland.
The sheriff’s office launched an internal investigation into the deputy after learning she had been appearing in online sex videos. The department did not say how they learned of her online videos. Lofland admitted she had likely violated department policies by not obtaining advance authorization from the department for outside employment, which she says would probably not have been granted.
“It was a violation of policy to not request permission to work secondary employment. I know that and I knew that,” she said.
Lofland said she had only been appearing in the online videos for about a month and estimated she had done about six different sex scenes for multiple production companies.
But she says she was driven to the online video sex business by the same financial pressures facing millions of Americans — rising debt, increasing interest rates and a higher cost of living.
She said a massive storm in June of 2023 caused an estimated half a million dollars in hail and water damage to her home that her insurance company would not cover. Additionally, she said rising interest rates contributed to her adjustable rate mortgage tripling in cost over the last three years. Foreclosure proceedings were started on her house. Increases in everyday expenses like utility bills, gas and food costs made things worse. She said she borrowed money from her family, cut spending and tried everything, but needed a fast influx of cash to keep the debt collectors and foreclosure at bay.
With her savings drained, she turned to appearing in adult videos. Lofland said it was a difficult decision, but she was running out of options. She said she found the industry to be “professional” and she never experienced any coercion.
She said her husband supported her decision and she didn’t tell family members or friends what she was doing to make ends meet.
In a short period of time, she said she made enough money to make her monthly mortgage payment.
“My actions have been made out of desperation. … Some may judge and say there are ‘better’ ways to make money, but at the time I had no other lucrative means for doing so,” said Lofland.
A spokesperson for the Arapahoe County Sheriff said, “Due to privacy and due process issues, we are not able to respond to any specific questions.”
Lofland also served on the state of Colorado’s Peace Officer Standards and Training board, but says she resigned from that position several weeks ago.
“I loved being in law enforcement,” said Lofland, who said she is now pondering her future. Will she continue making adult videos? She has not ruled it out, but has not made a final decision.
“There are many deputies and officers doing what they can to make extra money, with or without permission,” said Lofland. “People are doing what they can to survive at this time.”

NY Times hammered for article referring to biological women as ‘non-transgender women’
If only we had a way to refer to women that aren’t men….
Former female sports greats, media figures, and even a conservative lawmaker tore into a recent New York Times article for referring to women as “non-transgender women.”
Tennis legend Martina Navratilova and other prominent people blasted the piece online for the characterization, stating the outlet should just be referring to biological women as women.
“NYT- you stink. We are women, NOT TRANSGENDER WOMEN. Just WOMEN will do in the future,” Navratilova wrote on the social media platform on Friday.
The Times published an article Thursday which documented the inner turmoil of a women’s college volleyball team – the San Jose State University Spartans – attempting to field a transgender female player in upcoming tournament games.
The attempt to get the trans player to compete has caused division, not only in the league, but among team members, some of whom are suing their own team.
The outlet reported, “Earlier this month, a senior co-captain of the Spartans and the assistant coach filed a lawsuit to stop the transgender athlete from playing in this week’s Mountain West Conference tournament, claiming that she violates Title IX rights to gender equity at federally funded institutions.”
The co-captain was joined by 10 female volleyball players, most of whom are on other teams that play against the Spartans. The Times described the situation as a “complicated mess,” noting that “some of the Spartans no longer talk to one another at practice or outside of games” and adding that even the head coach – who supports the trans student – “has stopped talking to some players off the court, too.”
The Times reporter Juliet Macur appeared to step into the debate as well, as further down in her piece, she employed the term “non-transgender women” as one way to distinguish biological women.
Describing some of the science that fuels that debate as to whether trans women can compete in women’s sport, Macur wrote, “On its website, the N.C.A.A. says trans volleyball players are eligible to play if their testosterone level is less than 10 nanomoles per liter — that’s at least four times more than what many experts say is the top of the range for non-transgender women, and in the typical range for adult men.”
At other points in the piece, the reporter also referred to the biological female athletes as “athletes assigned female at birth.”
Frustrated social media users trashed these controversial descriptions of women.
British Olympian and activist Sharron Davies posted, “Written in the NYT … women are now Non-transgender women! Just wow! How anyone can say this isn’t a men’s rights movement I’ll never know, whilst women lose their rights, their words, their safeguards, their sports, their sex discrimination laws… I will never understand.”
Anti-trans activism account “WomenAreReal” addressed the outlet on X, stating, “Hey @nytimes Don’t call us ‘non-transgender women.’ Just stop it. Stop all the offensive terms for us.”
The account listed other politically correct terms trans activists have used to referred to biological women, including, “birthing parent,” “uterus haver,” “menstruator,” and “vaginal presenting.” “We are WOMEN!” the account added.
Journalist Tiffany Wong posted, “LMAO, New York Times is calling normal, sane women ‘non-transgender women.’”
Conservative journalist Andy Ngo remarked, “In woke ideology, there are only transgender women and non-transgender women.”
Even Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., trashed the outlet, stating, “The New York Times, everybody, where women are defined as ‘non-transgender women.’ What bs. #HoldTheLine.”
Fox News Digital reached out to The New York Times for comment, but did not immediately hear back.

Arapahoe, there’s a punch line there someplace.
🤣😬
Also, (you’re welcome in advance) I’m quite conflicted AS TO, whether she is hot or not.
I’m not gonna go digging for any further deeper, harder, …… evidence
You make the call.
She’s no Maegan Hall, THAT’S for sure.
Now, now, now, Chimpy…you know that you’d hit that…’specially if she showed up in uniform with them fuzzy handcuffs and a “come hither” look.
She reminds me of a Company Commander of mine when I switched sides…. to Military Intelligence (from Infantry).
[…] This ain’t Hell… has your feel good stories. And stupid people of the week. […]
The Pirate’s Cove
Christmas at the circus? Sounds like they had a lost clown in the crowd.
Colorado deputy serving on the standards and training board? Kinda makes one smile at the irony. Some here would be happy to hit that I’m sure.
Alligators and crocodiles as pets? I would hate to trip over either on my middle of the night walk to the bathroom.
The old gray lady ain’t what she used to be. I wonder how much cash she’s menstruating each month with articles like this.
Is the NY Times TRYING to be that stupid, or does it come to them naturally? IMHO addressing someone “by their pronouns” is akin to talking to a schizophrenic’s imaginary friends.
NYT-A publication by non-educated liberals.
Special mention: this mother fucker.
Ryan “The Human Twinkie” McBeth accused Tucker of ‘parroting Putin talking points’ and ‘adding credence to Russian propaganda’ on some short (can’t find it, hashtagtrustmebro). For a supposed smart guy, ex-SNCO, and super computer programmer –who should have logic as a construct down pat– one would figure explaining the Russian perspective with relevant facts to stave off, I dunno, nuclear war would be a good thing.
I swear you ideologues are going to get a lot of people killed for the want of moral superiority points.
