Assassination attempt increased Donald Trump’s odds at winning in November
A leading bookmaker had Donald Trump at 62.5% chances of winning the Presidential Election in November. After the assassination attempt, that number jumped up to 73.3%. This appears to be a conclusion that many on the left are also coming to. Looking back at when there was an assassination attempt against Ronald Reagan, the latter’s approval ratings jumped up. Don’t be surprised if the same thing happens to Donald Trump.

Donald Trump is significantly more likely to win the 2024 presidential election after an apparent attempt to assassinate him on Saturday left him injured, according to a leading bookmaker.
A gunman opened fire on a Trump rally near Butler, in Pennsylvania, on Saturday, killing one attendee and leaving two others seriously wounded, according to a Secret Service spokesperson.
Broadcast footage from the event showed Trump was struck on his right ear, leaving it bleeding, before he was surrounded by Secret Service agents and led from the stage after defiantly raising his hand in a clenched fist. The suspected attacker, who the FBI identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was shot and killed by return fire.
On Saturday, prior to the assassination attempt, Trump’s odds of winning the 2024 presidential election were 8/15 (65.2 percent) according to William Hill, a U.K. based betting company. However, after the shooting, this was slashed to a 4/11 (73.3 percent) chance of Trump achieving victory.
Newsweek contacted representatives of the 2024 Trump and President Joe Biden’s campaigns for comment on Sunday via email outside of usual office hours.

When I first saw that female agent struggling to holster up and then had to commit the mortal sin of looking at the holster, that’s when I knew they weren’t using the “A Team” here. More like “F Troop”.
When I was in the police academy, they hammered into our peabrains that we had to develop the muscle memory to access any tool on our tool belt WITHOUT looking. And to this day, whenever I’m at a range and finish shooting, I always check my six for additional threats.
Somehow I missed that fumble.
That is incompetence. If you have to take your eyes off the threat or the environment in which the threat occurred, you’re incompetent. And likely to become dead.
She had no idea which way to look. She’s supposed to be covering the six on the entourage hustling Trump to the vehicle. She’s looking everywhere else.
I will cut her a tiny bit of slack because I’m sure she was going through post adrenaline let down. That tends to play hell with your muscular coordination. That is the exact reason that we train muscle memory.
If she didn’t get enough training, I’m not sure who’s fault that is? To me that sounds like a leadership issue. But either way, overall I think she did a sucky job.
No matter the situation, I never looked at my holster. She obviously needed a lot more training.
In her defense, she probably has a much bigger muffin top blocking her holster than you do…
