The victim apparently recalled pressing business elsewhere. Thanks, Gun Bunny.
The essence of constitutionalism in a democracy is not merely to shape and condition the nature of majorities, but also to stipulate that certain things are impermissible, no matter how large and fervent a majority might want them. George Will

The victim apparently recalled The Four Esses, and decided to implement the Fourth Ess, “Shut Up”, by not being around when the cops finally decided to show up.
Or maybe he decided to implement a 5th Ess, Tox, by scooting out…splitting the scene…shagging ass outa there? Being as it was in J’ville, I’ll venture out on a limb and say, home boi prolly was/had been up to some type of nefarious activities and was “…known to the popo…”.

We have a Model 1907 at the moment. I was part of the same collection that my future M&P-15 came from. Fortunately, I have kids, so my collections shouldn’t meet the same fate, but those were sold by a widow who’d finally opened her husband’s safe a couple of years after his passing.
