Pilar Arias
Video released by a Florida sheriff’s office shows the moment a sniper shot through a computer monitor and killed a suspected armed bank robber who was holding hostages. It all unfolded Feb. 6 at a Fort Myers Bank of America, said Sheriff Carmine Marceno of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO). Responding deputies discovered the suspect had a knife and claimed he had a bomb while detaining a man and a woman.
“We tried to negotiate with him continuously,” Marceno said in a previous press conference, adding that at one point, the suspect held a knife to the female hostage’s throat.
It was after the suspect “presented deadly force” that an LCSO Special Operations Unit sniper fired a “planned and deliberate shot through a computer monitor,” striking the suspect in the center of the forehead and killing him instantly.

READING, Ohio — A Hamilton County deputy returning home from work shot a burglar who broke into his home early Sunday morning, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office said.At approximately 5:30 a.m., Hamilton County deputies and Reading police officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 1700 block of Keith Road in Reading.
Investigators said there was a confrontation, and the deputy fired his personally owned weapon.
In a recording of a 911 call we obtained, the off-duty deputy tells dispatch “I’m in my personal residence, somebody broke into my house when I got off duty and tried to attack my family. Shots fired.”
In court Monday, officials said 26-year-old Darryl Williams entered the house through a closed kitchen window and went to the bedroom. A woman was in the room at the time.
Before the deputy fired shots, he physically fought with the suspect, officials said in court.

At that age and stage in life, who’s going to begrudge the groom a little cradle robbing? Not me.
Exactly!
Both perps had (HAD) poor victim selection skills.

There may and/or may not be an assortment of Tommy Hawks in The Gun Bunny’s assorted Bug Out Bags.
A lot of great tactical coordination to get the shot off. BZ
I wonder what the expression was on the face of the two hostages as the perp’s head exploded.
The Sniper has got some uber-serious gun skilz. Through the monitor into the forehead for a “never knew what hit him until he realized he was in Hell” moment.
Good on the Deputy for protecting his own family – and showing more restraint than I would have. He tried to physically restrain the perp, then shot him. I’da just shot him.
Nice little ceremonial hawk there. I spent several years, off and on, shaping a handle out of bois d’arc for my hawk. The likelihood of it breaking at an inopportune time is much less now.
Do you think the bank is going to make a claim against the Sheriff for the monitor? Personally I think they ought to hang it on the wall as a warning to future bank robbers.
