I remember those movies being on TV when I was a wee lass. I remember almost nothing about them other than the terror I felt when the monsters showed up. My older brothers thought it was funny to cause “tremors” in the house after we saw it. My mother did NOT think it was funny, and my father was not pleased with the potential damage, so that phase lasted shorter than the movie.
I picked up a treadle Singer sewing machine yesterday for $25.00. Cabinet is really good shape and the machine glides easy. New belt ordered; wife is trying to find a user’s manual.
Snake Plissken was an Anarchist. He didn’t care what you did as long as you stayed the hell out of his way.
He’s also, according to both movies…
1) Contrary to rumor, not dead.
2) Not as tall as you thought he’d be.

Lots of Star Wars memes for some odd reason… It’s almost like a B-List (at best) actor who is known primarily for playing an iconic hero in the series became a real-life villain. I’ll play film school student and theorize as to why Hamill’s pro-FJB antics are so disturbingly amusing.
Throughout the original trilogy, Luke Skywalker evolves from a simple farm boy into a powerful Jedi that is pivotal to defeating an evil Empire. While Darth Vader is the face of that Empire, we gradually learn that he is a tragic character who was corrupted by hatred and molded into what he becomes (the prequel trilogy later elaborates). In a sense, Vader is similar to many of our senior military leaders, corrupted by their quest for power and the machinations of our political system. See, Milley, Austin, etc. By most accounts, they were good junior and senior leaders up to their first couple of stars, but as they reached the pinnacle of power, they became more concerned with pleasing their masters than with taking care of those serving under them.
The true villain, Palpatine, is a career politician who–with the aid of others–maneuvered his way to turn the Republic into an Empire led solely by him. Our current (p)Resident-in-Chief is a career politician who spent years maneuvering his way into our highest office, supported by his fellow Dems and turncoat Reps. I’m not calling FJB a Palpatine-like character; it seems that the Clintons and Obamas are more likely to be pulling strings that most of us can’t see.
There is so many illustrations here of socialist behavior, one would think they would see the light from one of these points. That they would become enlightened to their follies. Nope they continue down the road of despair causing themselves more pain. Idiots is all I see.
Good stuff.
Pardon my ignorance, but who is the bottom left character?
Burt Gummer from the Tremors series. Well worth a watch, though I’d say the original Tremors was the best, with the 2nd close behind.

Reba MacIntyre played Bert’s wife in the first movie. You can’t get more Southwestern than that.
There was more than one?
Honorable mention?
Not even a hint of the psychosis to come.
The Gun Bunny rolling in hot to shore up that North Wall AND a rolling perimeter patrol.
Prepared…
Great stuff as usual. Thanks for the smiles.
When one of us is chained, none of us are free.
Based.
The missus demands I take her fishing.
If I wine-up missin’, check the Hockanum River.
1 of 1 contributions to-day, gotta run. Be well, Happy Mothers Day (only to whom that it applies, you know who you be).
Catch any? And what?

Electricity, pffft.
Where do you get needles for yours?
The wife found them online.
Skunked, nada, goose egg: the great trout lives-to-live ah’nother day.
Nice. I bet that’ll be a learning curve…
Probably.
A bad day fishing is better than any day at work!

I would think FJB is more Jar Jar Binks than Palpatine.
I think you’re right.
You put wayyy too much thought into this. My advice is to start drinking heavily. Nurse! Jameson’s, stat!
I have some Evan Williams waiting at the house.
Honey! Hush.
Milley… and Democrats paid him back for his lost way with Woodward’s book.

I’ll just stick this right here…
Concur.

There is always a place for a good mouser.

Unfortunately, they make everybody else miserable.
In the interest of transparency the Nietzsche quote has not been verified.
